Play with Me (Playing for Keeps Book 2)

One of the most beautiful love stories ever written
Garret's and Jannie's story was my absolute favorite from the series so far. While still extremely funny as Consider Me and beautifully heartfelt and emotional as Unravel Me, Play with me is just a little bit more than that. Both Garret and Jannie are beautiful, carrying, talented, funny humans who complement each other so well. Their love story in genuine, beautiful and fun, and makes you fall in love with them within first 50 pages. They support each other, they love each other, they make each other laugh, they make each other seen. This is one of those books where no scene or page feels like extra and the last page makes you say "yes, this is it". This was one of my favorite reads of 2023, rereads included.Anybody who is fun of sport romance, found family, true emotions and a lot of laughter - this ones for you.

Another winner!
I am utterly obsessed with this series; it's reached a point of ridiculousness. Not only have I fallen head over heels for the captivating stories and the fantastic couples.Within these pages, I've experienced the full spectrum of emotions - from laughing out loud to swooning, and even shedding a few tears. And let's not forget about the steamy scenes, which are absolutely on point! This series has everything I love:- Brothers' best friend romance- Sports romance- Tight-knit friend group- Forced proximity (hello, neighbors!)- Friends with benefits- Each book featuring different couples but interconnected stories (best read in order)First and foremost, let me shower some love on my forever favorites, Carter and Ollie - they own a piece of my heart that I'm not getting back anytime soon! Now, onto our latest leads, Garrett and Jennie. They've been part of the same close friend group for years, but one day, they see each other in a whole new light - beyond friendship, beyond being siblings' friends, just something more.Jennie is an absolute sweetheart with a dash of sass and a whole lot of stubbornness. She's got that Beckett charm, just like her brother, and while they may be alike in some ways, they're also distinctly different. Watching her journey through struggles with confidence and self-worth was heart-wrenching. She's convinced that everyone in her life is there solely for her brother, but what she doesn't realize yet is that they're there for her too, in their own right. As for Garrett, he's a handsome, bashfully awkward hunk of a man! His stumbling over words wasn't what I expected, but it was incredibly endearing and utterly adorable. He knows he shouldn't be looking at Jennie the way he does, shouldn't be entertaining all those forbidden thoughts, but he can't help himself - and honestly, neither can we!The relationships depicted in this series are pure gold. The friendships are unparalleled - the unwavering support, the banter, the laughter, it's all so beautifully portrayed. But what truly stole my heart in this book was witnessing the evolution of Jennie and Garrett's relationship. It wasn't love at first sight or some unrealistic instant connection. Instead, it was raw, emotional, passionate, hilarious, and perfectly imperfect. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Another great read
I loved that this book picked up exactly where the first book ended. Following Jennie and Garrett's story had me gripped wanting to know more and the way Jennie's back story is shared was just some wonderful writing. Can't wait to read more in book 3

Not my fave in the series
3.5This one started off strong but honestly I just feel like it was too long, for how long it was not a lot happened until towards the end of the book. I absolutely loved Garrett, I loved how he went through stuttering around Jennie to the complete opposite 🤭 I really liked Jennie at the start and I did really feel for her but towards the end she did start to annoy me a little. I really enjoyed how their relationship played out, especially how Jennie had her walls up and Garrett slowly broke them down. I liked seeing them grow closer without really realising it.Never thought I’d say it because I absolutely loved Carter in book 1 but my god was he immature and annoying in this book. It really cringed me out how he acted but I did enjoy to see more of Carter and Olivia’s life now after their book. It was nice to see all the guys and I’m really looking forwards to Adam’s book 🙌🏽

I will forever be a Becka Mack stan!
Everything Becka has wrote replays in my head 24/7 a day, I am yet to read something she’s wrote and not instantly recommend it to everyone I know! It doesn’t matter if it’s via social media or tapping a complete stranger on the shoulder in Waterstones to tell her she HAS to read consider me (true story, she bought it).Becka has managed to right a group who have so much love for one and other, the stories have you fulfilled and full of love, you laugh all the way through and there’s just enough spice that you cannot put it down.I cannot wait to see what else Becka has in store for us 🤍

Play with me
I still have a grin across my face after just finishing this book. It's hilarious, made me laugh out loud multiple times and has amazing characters. The first half has more smut than storyline in it, which I'm not mad at. It was a joy to see Jennie and Garrett fall in love and find ways to open up to each other.

romance perfection
This was such a heartwarming read, I love how the author is able make you feel all the emotions and fall in love with these characters. Loved how Garrett and Jennie’s relationship grew from friendship to more. Love how they brought each other out of their shells and formed a solid bond. This is my second book by this author and she’s quickly becoming one of my favourites.

Loved this !
I love these books ….I love how we still get lots about book 1 main characters but it doesn’t take away from the journey jennie & garrett are on.This was fun but also hit hard at some parts jennie is so relatable. If you read book 1 you’re gonna want to continue the series for sure !

If I Could Give It More Than 5 Stars - I WOULD!!!!
I loved this love story waaaaaaayyyyyyyy more than Carter and Olivia's. I may be a little bias as I also snuck around behind my brother's back with his friend…soooo there's some nostalgia there for me. The other thing I LOVED about this book was how respectful Garrett is! I love how he embraced what Jenny's hard limits were and gained her trust to the point where she let him into the deepest parts of her (no pun intended). It was such a beautiful love story mixed with a lot of of angst, tension and SPICE!!! I can't say enough good things about this book, but do yourself a favour and go read it! You should probably read Consider Me first to understand the interconnecting characters, but yes, READ THIS BOOK!!! I can't wait to read Adam's story!!!

Love me a brothers best friend romance!
“Every bit of you fits every piece of me, and that’s how I know. We bring out the parts of each other we’ve spent so much of our lives being too scared to show. You’re my best friend, and we found everything we needed when we found each other. Falling in love with you is like checking the very last thing off my bucket list.”Add another book boyfriend to the list. Becka knocked it out of the park with Garrett and Jennie’s story. I loved the chemistry between these two. The back and forth banter and the tension between them. They always supported one another and stood by each others sides. Garrett was sweet, funny and delicious. Jennie was head strong and sassy. Garrett and Jennie built a strong connection together not only physically but emotionally. Jennie had such great character development, I loved her, she is one of my favorite FMC. I loved how patient Garrett was with Jennie and never pushed her to talk or do anything that she was not comfortable with until she was ready. This book had so many funny moments, I love a book that always has me laughing. All of the characters are one big family and I love that about this book series, I could truly never get enough of them.

Amazing book!
"You shine way too bright to stand in anyone’s shadow, Jennie."Tropes:Brothers bestfriendForbidden romanceFriends to loversDancer x hockeyAfter reading consider me I was so exited for this book!. The writing and the story of this book were so entertaining and I absolutely fell in love with the characters.Garrett Anderson has no problem getting the girls he wants but when he starts to have toughs about his best friends little sister he knows he is in trouble. After agreeing to have fun with each other, things start to change between the two and turn into something more serious.Jennie Beckett has had some problems with guys in her past and has a more difficult time to let guys into her life but then Garrett comes along and they start something togheter that has her opening up and developing feeling and trust.Their relationship was really fun to read about, I absolutely fell in love with both Garrett and Jennie. The love they have for each other is out off this world!.If you live a good brothers bestfriend romance with a hockey man in it than you should definitely give this one a go and stars with the first book consider me!.
