Nice to have an electric like guitar with nylon strings
Interesting! Nice to have an electric like guitar with nylon strings. The neck is not wide and thick like a classical but more like a steel string. If you want to sound like an acoustic classical, then it's ok when silent and practicing and very low volume; however, because it has almost no body, it does not resonate at all or very little.Otherwise, when using a headset and, in my case, a small PA, it sounds "gravelly" with any volume. So, it'll be good for Rock or Pop or if you want a different sound. Also, the pickup catches more noise from my right hand than I expected, so I'll have to see how much I can clean it up by improving my technique. Unlike a classical, the bridge is adjustable, and it has a truss rod. There's an allen wrench included. So, you can adjust the action and relief unlike a classical.Good in it's own right but 60 to 95% electric guirar is how I would describe it.If you are looking for an electric guitar and not interested in classical nylon strings, there are probably better values for the price. No dings or scratches, no sloppy glue or sharp frets sticking out - good workmanship. Materials are interesting, hard for me to say on quality at this price - ask a luthier. Let's say interesting economics. Finish is not like a lacquered acoustic, grainy but nice. After the strings settle, it stays in tune ok. At first, I was concerned about the effort to insert frames, but I find that if you insert them outside/in to assemble and disconnect them inside/out to disassemble that you can do so with ease and not have to worry about damaging anything, the springyness works for you.The headset is bad, you're better off not using them. My $5 pair work better but still are "gravelly". I ordered a $20 sound engineer headset to see if it can be improved. (Is there a practical limit?) [Update: The sound engineer headphone arrived (Tascam), and the sound is a little less "gravelly" than my $5 set. They are also louder and the tone varies more too.]Also, there was no tuner included, but I found an app that does that now, so it's probably even less of a problem (i.e., no need for batteries).English is my only language (U.S.), and the instructions are in Chinese or Japanese. Maybe there are some online, I haven't checked yet. Also, there was no strap. It came with a 9v battery installed. On the shipping, it was supposed to take about 3 to 4 weeks to arrive, the earliest being May 8th or so, but it arrived on May 1st in less than 2 weeks. I have a postal drop, so I wasn't expecting it early: there was no tracking because of the shipping used. So, I could have picked it up a week earlier, if I had known. So to sum up, if you want to maintain your rest stroke and play a different, definitely electric sound, this guitar is worth considering. It still remains to be seen how much I can clean the sound up and achieve a broader range of sound. Down the road I'm looking to run it through a computer which might allow me to control the sound more. Also, I wonder if upgrading and replacing the pickup will be in order. However, I like the guitar but consider it a "work in progress" to attain a completely satisfactory outcome.
