Hitachi R18DSALP4 18V Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner (Tool Only, No Battery)

I bought this because I own Hitachi and Metabo 18v tools so I already had four batteries and a couple chargers. I like it and it has good suction for a cordless, it doesn't hold a lot of dirt but that's good because it makes me empty it after every use. I would rather it wasn't white but it's not a big deal. The only thing I didn't like was the stick taper is reversed from normal vacuums so you can't use brushes and other tools from other vacuums but I solved that problem because I had extra tubes from an old vac and I cut a ten inch section from the male end and made a double male tapered adapter on my belt sander. now I can use the factory tube backwards or any other vacuums tubes and all the other accessories from other vacuums like brushes etc. Also if you own this vacuum you should buy this flashlight https://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-UB18DEL-18-Volt-Cordless-Flashlight - it takes the same battery and is dirt cheap at 14.99, I use mine 3-4 times a week. I really like using the same battery platform for all my tools, flashlight, and this vacuum, I would never have bought a battery powered vac that used a special battery because when it dies if you can get a new battery it would probably cost as much as a new vac. With this I already had four tool batteries and they are high quality batteries and tools so if and when I need a new one it will be for all my tools not just my vacuum.

It has very good suction and an excellent air filtration so it doesn’t kick out dust. I use it on all the hard surfaces and it does an excellent job. At about 3 pounds I can do the whole job with very little fatigue. I use a 3 amp hour battery and the battery still has more available time to run. I charge the battery anyway and empty the debris and clean the filters. The filters rinse easily. I set the washed filters on the floor vent to (forced air) dry them out. The integrated LED light helps a little but could be brighter. I had to buy the vacuum, battery and charger ala cart so I had more into it than if it was offered as a bundle. Still worth it compared to the heavier, noisier and sometimes awkward to use completion.

I have 2 dogs, 1 with long fur; so it is always a battle with dog hair in the house. I wanted something to quickly pick up the tumbleweeds in between vacuuming. This works fantastic!!! I knew from reading the listing that it did not come with a battery or charger, but we had those from other tools we own. The long wand keeps me from having to bend over and it was very easy to empty out. The only negative is having to hold the on button constantly. If you don’t have the battery, compare the price of all 3 items to similar vacuums; the price is still competitive.

This vacuum is pretty decent for the price, and with the Multivolt batteries, it lasts for a long long time. A few things to consider: This vac will not accept the biggest Multivolt battery without modifying the vacuum. Not a big deal for me, I have the next size smaller batteries also, which work fine and lasts a long time. The color is a pretty poor choice for work duty, the white gets really dirty really quickly if you are sucking up dirt and dust. The dirt container comes off easily, but fills up quickly, so if you have a ton to clean up, just break out your shop vac. This machine does not have a power roller in it's head, so don't expect Dyson performance. This one is nice for a quick sawdust or dirt pickup at the end of a job, but not a major clean up. Finally, once you empty out the vac, wipe off the mesh filter inside and screw the container back on the body, it will give a small puff of dust out both vents on the side of the machine. Once again, not a major problem, but be aware. All in all, if you have the Hitachi/Metabo HPT batteries and charger already, this might be a good addition to your arsenal. And certainly cheaper than another stick vac with it's own battery and charging system.

We got this to help with stairs, but use it for touch-up everywhere. It is light and maneuverable, but more powerful than expected. We get good life from a single battery, and when one plays out, it is quickly and easily replaced with a charged battery. Emptying the container is also simple and straightforward. The vac is relatively quiet, and we are very happy with this purchase. It is a natural choice if you use the Hitachi/Metabo 18v cordless tool system.

I have been buying cordless sweepers about every 2 years because they just give out. I am hoping this guy will last longer. I just got it but I am amazed how much this picks up - even on the carpet! My hubby used dewalt tools so I bought an off brand battery and it works great! 3 amh I believe. Only bad thing is that you have to hold the trigger down to use. This can be a little tiring for the hand - I do not recommend for someone with arthritis. Not really sure why they did this, it doesn’t make much sense to me, but it picks up everything, so I am willing to overlook it.

I like how easy to you use but I am not happy about the work it does, it can’t even pick chips , it don’t worth my $100 since It didn’t include battery and charger 😒🤓

When first unboxed, I was a little underwhelmed. However, after spending some time inspecting the product, I became impressed by the build quality and plastic materials used. The suction is very good. The unit is ultra lightweight with a 1.5Ah battery. It manuevers easily. And the battery life is surprisingly good, even with the 1.5Ah battery. You won't use it to vacuum your carpets, but, it's handy for quick clean-ups around the house and car. I only wish it came with a brush attachment.Wall Storage Tip: although the unit does not include a hole for wall-hanging storage, I carefully drilled a ⅜" hole on the small flat oval and it hangs on the wall nicely when not in use. If you do this, be careful not to drill any deeper than necessary (¼" depth) to avoid damaging internal components (see pic).

The suction is better than expected and more importantly, a 3ah battery (which is not included) lasted thru 2 sets of carpeted stairs and all my door mats (apprx.15 continuous minutes) showing no depletion when I put the battery back in a tool with a battery meter. It's worth mentioning that the larger multiVolt batteries won't fit...but it's seems as though you won't need that much capacity anyway. The filters were easy to clean.... beware though, it fills up quick and should be cleaned often. The accessories are adequate and the LED works well for the dark areas. Couldn't be happier with this product!

I love it. Help me keep the house clean. I wish I didn't have to keep pressing the button to keep the vacuum on.
