Yeoman Long Handled Angled Garden Grabbe

I bought this for my elderly aunt who likes to keep her garden clean of leaves from the tree's which are in and over hang the garden.And it works and does what I imagined it would.It is sturdy yet light weight (my elderly aunt can hold it, lift it, use it no sweat)And after a couple of years of use, it is still in tip top condition and looks great.This means the build quality is excellent as it hasn't broken or come loose in any way.And in usage, easy, dead easy - simply grab both handles (padded handles and comfortable to hold) use it closed to gather leaves or use it open to gather/scrape leaves and twigs/branches.Then gather up in the claws, simply close by pushing your hands together with the claws around your pile, lift up leaves/branches/twigs and open again to drop into green bin etc and job done.Piece of cake to use, and itis great (as mentioned) for twigs/branches - even heavier ones I have lifted (trimmed one of the trees) using this Grabbe.

The product is excellent and has been used several times since it was purchased. It is robust in quality and does a much better job than my previous version. It's easy to store and is very lightweight which is a major advantage. The other excellent feature (for me) is that the length of the handles is great - a plus point for tall people! I'm glad I ordered it and I know it will serve me well over many years.

Works a treat. A great helper in picking up leaves, no more bending and attendant backache, no mucky gloves either from wet leaves.The slight angle on the handles makes it perfect to approach a heap of leaves holding the collector outwards while the two blades are level with the ground and grabbing a maximum amount of leaves, holding firmly together and lifting up into a wheelie bin once again the angled handles make for an easy transfer. Would recommend as a great labour saving device removing the chore element from leaf collection.

Arrived promptly and well packaged. Best price I could see on the net. Seems well made and the "Jaws" open very wide so can be used to scrape up quite a large area on the ground. Can see nothing to complain about up to now. RecommendedEDIT.Have used this a few times now and continue to recommend it. Having raked up the straw and 'detritus' with the rake recently bought on Amazon (see my other, adjacent, review), I can pick the pile up with the grabber and stick it straight in to the container and it scrapes along the ground with it's serrated 'teeth' thus picking virtually everything up.Excellent item.FURTHER EDIT.Noticed that two of the "arms" had became bent (near the hinged point where the two arms join each other) by someone presumably using it too enthusiastically. It's fine for the use intended and the damage wouldn't normally happen if used for the purpose designed for. Used two 300mm strips of 10mm x 10mm aluminium angle and riveted them to the bars and it's strengthened it up and is good as new.Remains thoroughly recommended.

i am so pleased i bought this . received it this morning and have been using it already to great effect as i have arthritis in my spine and now don't need to bend to gather clippings.it is well made and sturdy so looks like it will last for a long time.and it is extremely well thought out. the foam on the handles makes it comfortable to hold and it has been well thought out ergonomically-it slants so it is easy to pick up clippings and lift them straight over into the wheelie bin. the other point i should make is that it holds it's load well unlike cheaper versions which lack the tensile strength to keep a hold of things once lifted.thankyou amazon

Its easy and effective to use, if a little lightweight.

Ideal for collecting leaves and has a firm grip which avoids spillage, the item is sturdy but it is already showing signs of rust where the screws go through the metal. This is after a few day's usage. Disappointing but easily cured with cure rust but it should not happen.

These are one of my best time saving purchases. we have an awful lot of trees around the garden and are just buried in leaves in autumn! after just about breaking my back last year - someone mentioned that these were worth their weight in gold and i have to agree. they are really sturdy and you can pick up a massive heap of leaves in each visit. can fill a wheelie bin in minutes and a wheelbarrow. They are slanted so they really do scoop right down to the floor. if you buy them you will not regret it, delivery was super quick too
