A better kneeboard
I have tried numerous kneeboard over the years... single, double and other unique boards. This one really works,, it is light weight, smaller than most, using more of a 5x7 platform than a 6x9. With that said, most checklists, including the Checkmate brand, can be trimmed ( compact model) and placed in a cut down Jep clear plastic sheet holder and with an extra hole punched, it will work. Other lists can be made to almost a 6x9 size but with no borders, will work again in a Jep plastic. Cutting down and trimming is nothing as you get used to it really quick. I have put about 7 pages in this binder and I like that they are all accessible without disturbing my top sheet for clearances and vectors. I included some emergency checklists in there and they are more accessible than in the regular metal clipboards with the clip on top. You have to take everything out to find what you want there,,, here I just flip to the page.I did use this on my left leg instead of the right. I can then flip to the current plane's checklist and have that lay across my right thigh. Pilots will get what I mean,,, I think !! I hope all of this helps !!

Too small for my needs (student/private pilot)
My rating of 4 stars is because it still appears to be a quality product. But it's tiny, it's actually smaller than the overall dimensions they report. I measured it at under 5" wide. But that is to the edge, including the rings. The writing surface and sleeves are less than 4" wide.True, it doesn't take up any excess space in the cabin. But, the sleeves end up so small that I don't know what I would put in them that would be legible or helpful. But it just doesn't meet my needs, it's really small. I could see how a person who regularly flies short distances to a few different airports could probably use the sleeves for recalling critical information about the airports. For me, building time and experience exploring new airports.I returned this and went with the A5 size, same brand instead, which I can fit VFR plans into the sleeves and still be able to read them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07572LWVP

Perfect size for general aviation planes
I have had this product for about a month, flying nearly everyday in a C172 doing IFR training. This has been great to keep my checklist in the ringed section of the binder. This doesn't take up much space in small general aviation aircraft. The band of the knee board has taken a bit of a beating in my flight bag but otherwise it's held up really well. It's made single pilot cockpit management under foggles easier with my checklists in a handy location.

Great muti use kneeboard for small aircrafts
This kneeboard is really nice. It is quite small but that is what I wanted. Quality made and I like the document sleeves and rings.

Great tool for pilots
This is a great fit for small pilots or pilots with very little space in the cockpit. Nice quality as well!
