The construction is good. The top fits well on the base and prevents liquid from leaving the box around the two sides and the back. The entrance in the front is somewhat low so cleaning litter by shaking the litter from back to front is likely to spill out, so it is better to shake from side to side.There was no instruction sheet included in the shipment, and the only paper in the package was shipping information.My main complaint concerns that the step at the front of the entrance and the swinging door are not as shown on the website picture of the upgraded black box.The step shown on the website shows a step that is the full height of the entrance level, but it is instead a low step as shown in views of other older models.The swinging door is shown on the website to be shortened below the pivot point which gives the cat more room to maneuver once inside the box, but the door supplied is full depth instead.Both of these features as shown on the website were preferred by me and were the reasons for selecting this particular model.I have opted to not use the swinging door since my almost 10 pound cat has a box of her own now and my older and very much bigger 17 pound "alpha" cat would not share it with her, but he won't fit in this box.I haven't attached the clamps to hold the top and bottom together and I hope this will not be necessary. I have to remove the top for cleaning for litter cleaning frequently anyway. If you need to carry the box with litter in it, it is easy to carry by gripping the lower box where the clamps would be. This is an advantage of a small and short litterbox.

Bought this for my dorm room because it's covered and compact. It's a little small, but it works for my cat and I didn't want a larger one because of the limited space. I can fit this thing on a shelf! The little stair piece is kind of pointless but easily removed, definitely buy actual litter mats as well because the little plastic mat they send with this does nothing. Great litterbox though! My only complaint is that, unlike most covered litterboxes, this litterbox doesn't come with a flap to keep the smell in. Maybe because it's too small?

I bought this a while back for the kittens I foster. I got a small one and it had a little step that worked great for them. I liked it so much I bought another one since I was fostering 3 kittens plus one kitten that was mine. It worked out great until this last one that I ordered just about a week ago, the handle broke. I wish I could just order a replacement handle cuz I don’t want to carry that thing fully in my arms.

Way too small for my large male cat which is who I bought it for but other than that it was fine

I love this little litter box. The box itself is very pleasing to the eye, but it's also nice and functional too. I bought it originally to replace a goofy looking one I had before. My 2 cats never had a problem using one litter box in the past, but since we moved into a new apartment I figured it would be good to have 2. Everyone saying that this one is pretty small would be correct, but it's not bad by any means. I bought it purposely for my smaller cat (around 5-7 pounds), but even my bigger cat (10-12 pounds) uses it. And as you can see, they have a pretty big one next to it. I don't know if my cats are just weird, but they both like the smaller one and use it often. I think it's a good box, and the upper opening gives them room to move around even if they're bigger.

I had an open litter box when I first got my kitten. It was okay but I did not like being able to see and smell her business. If I wasn’t able to clean the litter box immediately post her using the restroom, the stinch would get to me, and she would have a bit of a mess around the litter box from the litter itself. This litter box being covered helps a lot! I cannot smell her business anymore, she loves the step and the swinging door and I think she feels safe using the restroom in it and covered. Not that she wasn’t safe before but this may feel better being enclosed and more private.

The size is perfect for our space! Easy to assemble. Came with extra parts in case the latches broke. I like the step too! Great for our bunny. I hung a hay feeder on the inside (that side won’t clip down but you can’t tell).

I thought this was slightly bigger but it’s very small. Cats still used it and we will use it as a back up but had to go back to the old one. Doesn’t keep litter in well (if the door is off then it’s an absolute mess) and if the steps are slightly off then the door doesn’t open/ cat can’t get in/out. Love the idea of this but eh.
