The only difference is that the PEDD1-D12-75 features the PowerConnect(TM) through-the-pole lighting system that eliminates the need for connecting multiple light strings, reducing set up time. where as the PEDD1-312LD-75X does not. What kind of adapter do I need to plug my angel into the top outlet on the tree?

I ran an extension cord with another foot switch on it to avoid having to unplug it all the time. I found my additional foot switch at Target for about $8.
