I would hate to give one star for anything, but this one deserves it , first the idea sounds good but it does not function : your hand has to fully level so the shield can slide along the edg . Then if you want to add more paint to the brush you have to push the shield up and get paint on your hands .The quality of the brush bristles are not regular brush quality , they are super fine that can not apply any pressure on the brush . I ended up buying and using an edger brush from Lowe’s works nice.

The idea for this product is wonderful. Taping before painting is such a tedious job, but the mess you have if you don't tape is worse. I was hopeful this would save me some time and clean up. I ordered it to fit the 2 inch paintbrush I had purchased, however it didn't fit. It was too tight, it wouldn't screw together. I was unable to use it.

It takes a while to figure it out, and the reloading of paint to the brush sucks. But it does a good job.

I did not find this product particularly helpful and ended up returning it. I did follow written and video instructions.The paint brush was abysmal. I’m not someone who generally buys the best quality brushes for my projects. I’ve often made use of brushes from the dollar store and this paint brush had nothing on those. It just didn’t hold a lot of paint and that combined with the design of the tool made the device a non-starter for me.Because the tool has to be set even with the tip of the brush bristles, you can’t push down on the bristles to even get a little more bang from the amount of paint the brush will hold. The tip of the brush just doesn’t hold enough paint. You can’t even paint a 6 inch long strip of wall space before needing to re-dip (which while easily done is a 3-step process, so not very effecent if you’re having to do it every 10seconds). The tool itself was of good quality material and the edging line was thin enough that the tool could have been effective with a really good quality brush (an additional $8 or more). Honestly though, if I think about spending over $20 total to get this product to work right, I’d rather spend less money and get better (and more effecent) results by purchasing a Shur-line type edger with refills.I’d originally tried this product over a traditional style edger in hopes it could help with painting molding itself (near the wall, floor, or ceiling line), but it was alomost completely useless for that purpose. To be fair, the manufacturer doesn’t claim it can be useful with painting molding. It only claims to be effective with painting the wall space leading up to the molding, but as mentioned above, it was ineffective there as well.

I’m pretty savvy about home improvement projects since I had to rebuild our home after hurricane Harvey. No project scares me.I decided to rip down wallpaper, patch, print and then paint our half bath. I’ve painted many times and was interested bc everyone hates messy trim work.This product is a no-go for me.I educated myself, watched YouTube’s, the videos from Emery.Yeah, big no. It doesn’t work at all. I had my husband try. He couldn’t get it to work either.Skip this purchase. Buy good tape and seal it with a thin line of base paint and you’ll get your clean lines. This is a waste of $ and time.

I purchased this edger and was amazed how well it worked. I've tried some of the other edgers and not one of them has been able to create a tight edge like this one, not to mention a very straight edge. Not even painters tape could have produced this good of an edge. There was definitely a learning curve because you need to paint in a very specific way, but didn't take long to feel comfortable and paint quickly. I saw one negative review that claimed it left a gap between the edge and the paint. This reviewer either did not use the edger correctly, or is just straight up being untruthful. I'm guessing since this is a new product, other competitors are feeling threatened and have something to do with these ridiculously false reviews. Shameful!

Avoid, just buy some sash or cutting in brushes instead.
