I found this one very predictable. No thrill, no surprise. A let down in a way. Although there are two court battles in this one, somehow, the final solution was the most obvious one. You feel the entire book was just stretching it.

An excellent story where it’s hard to pin down the murderer. But as always, Perry Mason does a great job of it and gets the who-donexit in the end.

Read about how Perry Mason skewers a prosecution witness over a sexist remark, rubbing it in for the benefit of the women on the jury. Read about how he manages to elude New Orleans police officials who have a God complex. And read about how in the end he cunningly traps the killer.If you have watched the TV episode of this book, forget what you saw, and read the book. The TV series episode does not do justice to the book. The book is a masterpiece!

Kindle Edition - the text has obviously be scanned in and the book then published without an editor checking the quality of the scan. Mis-scanned letters and punctuation, extraneous titles and missing words abound. This gives the feeling of a bootlegged copy.

If you like Perry Mason you’ll love this one.All the usual characters, the out of court detecting, the court room drama, Perry Mason in a seemingly hopeless position, Paul Drake sailing close to the wind and the climax.It’s solid plot from cover to cover without the fill and mostly irrelevant sub-plots that many modern novels have.It’s what fans have come to expect and this doesn’t disappoint.

I like when Mason and Tragg team up--and this story is one of them! The risks Mason takes in this one are extraordinary and his mental prowess really shines. I love how Drake, even though sometimes begrudgingly, still is along for the ride. Drake is Mason's ride-or-die, no matter what! Awesome.
