Goodnight Mr. Darcy: A BabyLit® Parody Picture Book

Bought this as gifts for a few friends who are Darcy fans and also have toddlers. My 2 year old absolutely loves the original Goodnight Moon book, since she was old enough to sit still and listen. This book is a great, and hilarious, satire to that book and such a keepsake for Pride & Prejudice lovers!I was a bit skeptical about whether or not it would be age appropriate language and vocabulary for my 2 year old. I’m definitely glad I bought it because I don’t feel like it’s too difficult for her to understand. In fact, I think it would be good for several years to come. It rhymes, just like the original Goodnight Moon and follows a very similar story scheme of goodnight. It’s a great chuckle for mom or dad while reading a bedtime story for your kids.

Great board book for baby Austen fans. I made sure that all 5 of my children get their first screen time by watching Pride & Prejudice. This book was a natural choice for me. Board books ought to be tolerable to parents who have to read them seven jillion times (approx. value). I have purchased several of the other BabyLit books as well. The vibrant artwork and minimalist references to the stories let me enjoy reading to the babies. Goodnight Mr. Darcy did not disappoint. I won't spoil the ending, but I will say that the last two couplets were my favorites.Highly recommended to Austen fans who want a whimsical coffee table book or for parents who like literary references in their board book library.

Gave this as apart of gift to one of my dear, dear friends who's favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice! SHE LOVED THIS! She immediately wanted to go online and buy it for her other obsessed friends. Gift success! :)

I found this hilarious. Great for the lover of both Good Night Moon and Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Haven't tried reading it to kids yet but loved it for my own library.

I think this book is cute. Of course, it is not the original Pride and Prejudice, so don't expect it. It is a cute addition to a fans library or a a step to creating a new one.

Bought this for my sister's baby shower. Her favorite book was Pride and Prejudice it was even on her wedding cake. So when I saw the title off the book I knew I had to get it. Shower hasn't happened yet but I showed her the book and she's loved it.

This Delightful board book will please the reader, even though the young child isn’t yet acquainted with Pride and Prejudice. Fun!

Love this book. Pride and prejudice is one of my favorites now I can share it with my kiddos so they can kinda understand.

Book itself is cute - for those who are both parents and Jane Austen fans. Kids won't get it, and my friend who is an Austen fan didn't get the humour because she wasn't familiar with the kids nook. Lost a star because the back was a bit banged up.

A nice parody on P&P and the original "Goodnight Moon" but a little too short. It's more of a book for the adult than the toddler for sure.
