Best biscuit mix ever!
My family loves this biscuit mix. Easy to use, tastes great every time. We tried it on vacation in GA and loved it, but it's difficult to find in FL grocery stores. Luckily we found it on amazon! Similar texture to Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits.

Simple and awesome
Iโve been making biscuits all of my life always searching for the best and easiest to prepare. This Southern Biscuit Mix is it ! I live alone so I only make up a couple at a time for breakfast almost every morning. They are light and flakey and delish. Make sure you use buttermilk and donโt handle the dough a lot. Just enough to bring the dough together, fold over a time or two then pat out into your biscuits. I donโt roll them out or cut. I just pat them out. Put them in my toaster oven at 425 for 9 minutes ! Voila ..........awesome !

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MAKING GREAT BISCUITS.
First... I consider myself a Gourmet Chef. I love Popeyeโs Red Beans & Rice, KFC Cole Slaw and Homemade Southern Biscuits. If you donโt want to take the time and effort and donโt have a large area and extensive kitchen paraphernalia to make GREAT biscuits ~ this biscuit premix is for you. AND donโt pay Any attention to those who moan and groan about PRICE! SOME RULES TO FOLLOW: 1. Use a lot of space and a lot of General Purpose Flour. 2. Use only Buttermilk or Buttermilk dry mix which is also available at AMAZON. 3. Recognize that the shortening flakes are already in the mix and you donโt have to โcut-inโ shortening or lard. Might account for the price you paid. 4. Donโt stir hardly at all, Yes it will be lumpy and thatโs fine. This is one of the most important rules and hard to resist - DONโT HANDLE THE DOUGH TOO MUCH! 5. BUT... the dough will be Very Sticky and stick to everything, your hands, bowl, table & ceiling! 6. So... use lots of General Purpose Flour but ONLY enough to be able to handle the dough. Experiment on using the minimal amount amount of flour to control the stickiness but not over power the biscuit/buttermilk dough. 7. DONโT Over Bake. Watch for browning and how long it took to get there for future batches. 8. Use plenty of butter or gravy and wait for the Rave Reviews. 9. Be Glad AMAZON carries this product! Regards

Good for prepper....
I made biscuits using the recipe on the bag with water (I usually like to use milk, butter, yummy extras). The baked results tasted and formed very well. We ate them all up at dinner! They had a nice rich flavor and were fluffy but not falling apart ("look ma, no crumbs"). I bought this product for the days when I might need to bake without milk and butter and baking powder...etc (we live very rural) and it fits the bill. Hopefully it has a good shelf life; I put it in an air tight container in the fridge. However. the price for this product is a little over the top!

Overpriced
I'm addicted to cooking shows on YouTube. All of the southern US channels I watch recommend this product highly saying you can't beat it. I received my $19.98 3 lb bag today. Living in California, it is not available in stores so I had no choice other than to buy it here. The bag looks like it's 5 years old. Not sure what it's supposed to look like. By reading other reviews I'm seeing it's less than $4 in states that carry it. If I had known that beforehand, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Then, found it is not returnable!!! The markup is ridiculous and something should be done about that. I see where people didn't realize the bag was so small but that's their fault for not reading the print. Also, people complain about the "yellow flakes" and that is simply the lard or "whatever" fat they add...and I expect that. My problem is the PRICE compared to store prices where you can purchase. What can we do as customers to fix this? Again, I've not tried the product but will tomorrow. If the company happens to read this, please let us know if the bag should look old. And please, lower your price so we westerners can order. (If it's even worth the time). I'll leave another review tomorrow after I mix up a batch. Next day. I've changed my rating to a 5 star. I've been making homemade biscuits for a long time but nothing compares to this product. The biscuits turned out so fluffy I couldn't believe how good they were. Even though they are definitely overpriced compared to stores, CA doesn't carry them so I will continue to buy. If you can afford the product, I definitely recommend it. Just please, lower the price.

Best biscuits ever!
Very simple to use. The biscuits turn out delicious each time and itโs so easy to make. All you need is butter milk! I use a 3:1 flour/ butter milk ratio. I typically make about 5-6 biscuits with 1 cup flour and 1/3 cup buttermilk. I bake at 350 for 13 minutes. The biscuits always come out nice and flaky and delicious. So easy to make for breakfast.

BEST BISCUIT MIX on the market ! A little pricy, but well worth the price.
