TYRMen's Durafast Elite Solid Jammer Swimsuit

Quality suit
My teenage son swims year round. We go through suits pretty quickly since he is still growing. I have tried suits of all brands, including off brand ones just for cost reasons. The cheaper suits are definitely cheaper. They pill, and colors fade. They also stretch and thin out. These suits fit him well (keep that crack covered on the start block and on flip turns). They also hold up better than others. We also use speedo, arena, and dolfin brands. TYR works well for him.

Very comfortable and durable feeling jammer
Update: The suit isn't exactly thicker, it just has two layers, and two layers to wear out and get baggy. Granted they are over a year old, and I swim 2-3 times a week, but not consistently during that one year period. I am now thinking it is time to replace them as the material is a little baggy here and there. No holes or worn spots, but the material definitely "loosens" up, not feeling as comfortable and compressing as they used to. They do last longer than a single layer suit, so that is helpful.I have other jammers from TYR, and I listened to the reviews which stated to order up a size from normal. In the case of this specific suit, that may not be necessary. The real reason for ordering up a size is that the leg holes are very tight. This suit was borderline for me in that regard, so I feel like you could go either way unless you have very thick quads. That being said, this is definitely me new go to swim suit. The thicker material is very comfortable, and I imagine just that more supportive if you size appropriately. I forgot it the other day and had to wear my older TYR jammer; it is so thin that I felt naked while swimming. It will be great if this material holds up to the chlorine as advertised. I will definitely order a backup soon.

Quality material, craftsmanship, and fit
I purchased these and a pair of Speedo Endurance+ jammers at the same time so that I could see which one I liked better. Absolutely no question...the TYR Durafast jammers are superior in every way. The material is thicker, sturdier, slightly more stretchy (which makes donning and doffing easier), fits my body better, and I will be really surprised if they don't outlast the Speedo suit by a long shot. The only area I'm not fat, but I'm also not rail-thin. Nearly every set of pants, shorts, and jeans I own are size 32 waist. Rarely, a size 31 fits better. I found the size 32 TYR jammers to fit PERFECT, whereas the Speedo Endurance+ jammers of the same size are just a tad too small (too tight around quads and not enough length from crotch to hip). If, like me, you are debating between these TYR Durafast jammers and the competing Speedo Endurance+ jammers, be assured that the TYR suit is a better quality product and unless you are rail thin with small diameter quads, the TYR suit will probably fit better too.

Fits true to size, but legs are a tad tighter than the non-Elite Durafast Solid
These fit true to size. I normally wear men's 34 waist pants (I can fit into 33 in the summer when I am more active) and these in size 34 were a perfect fit, almost skin tight but stretchy enough to allow free movement. They are very low drag and tend to dry quickly. They are a bit tight at the knees but mainly to reduce drag. My thighs measure about 17.125 inches in circumference at the ends of the Jammers, and they are still comfortable but tighter than the non-Elite Solid Jammer. The black color did not seem to fade with the first few swims in an indoor chlorinated pool. The difference between the Durafast Elite and the non-Elite is that the Elite is mainly Polyester with some Spandex. The non-Elite is made completely of Polyester. In terms of comfort and fit, I can't really tell a big difference. Both Durafast lines are advertised as being designed for chlorinated pools.Overall: 5/5 stars, great price, durable construction, near perfect fit

A Close 2nd to Regular Durafast (for me)
I've been a loyal Tyr Durafast user for a few years, and decided to try the Elite when they went on sale for less than the standard Durafast. The fit was exactly the same for me as the regular Durafast: a perfect 34 for a medium-framed guy who wears 34 pants. The big difference is the full dual-layer construction on the Elite vs a crotch liner on the standard. The Elite seem to have a little bit more compression and take quite a bit longer to dry, as you'd expect. They may last just a bit longer than the standard, but the jury is still out on that. I usually get 7-8 months use at 6-8 hrs per week out of a standard Durafast suit before I start get some seam stitch breakage, and I'm at about 6 months with the Elite and the stitching has faded like usual, but is still in great shape. Overall, I personally prefer the standard Durafast because the crotch liner works better for me fit-wise (holds everything in place better) and I prefer the quicker drying time and lighter feel of a single layer suit. Still a great, durable suit that I'm sure will appeal more to some people.

Thick material
Quality swimsuit. Material was extra thick. The sizing was weird though--super skinny legs and a big midsection. It didn't fit, so it had to be returned.

Good fit so far, and a nice drawstring
I am 6" 1 5/8' and usually my weight is around 143 lbs. In jeans I usually wear 31" or 32", but the jammers I bought are 30" and fit me quite nicely. Some reviews state to order one size up, maybe because of the tight bottom of the legs, but I think 32" would not be a snug fit for my body type with long legs. Over time I also expect them to widen a little. The material is nice and I really like the wide drawstring. Yes, the bottom of the legs might be a bit tight, but I will rather have it tight than letting the legs ride up. After 15 min. in the pool I do not think about the tightness at all. The only issue is that the legs could be a bit longer. Currently they are 3 3/4" from my knee. Only used them for a few times so far, but if something is unexpected over time, I might revise this review.

Bueno

Great fit and good quality
I'm a beginner/intermediate swimmer, and not looking to swim compete. These trunks are great for simple lap swimming. I have an older version of these trunks (like 4 years old) that are still wearing great, and I wanted to have a 2nd pair.I would recommend that you order a size larger than your actual. For example, if your waist is 32, order a 34.
