Honest Review from a mediocre player - It's awesome!!!
I started playing pickleball about a year ago, and coming from a tennis background, I expected the transition to be really easy. Clearly, I was wrong. Pickleball gameplay is quite different, and I had to learn about my play style to really improve. One thing I noted was that the paddles that I had at my disposal were not the best to help improve my ball control and shot placement. The very first time I played was at the YMCA and they had these horrible wooded paddles. There was no forgiveness, the sound was horrible, and it was all around a terrible experience.I decided to buy a set of Selkirk paddles for my girl and I to use recreationally, and wound up buying a beginner set priced under 100 dollars for a pair. These were a great improvement over the wooden paddles, had a nice surface to help with spin, and I used them for most of last year. As I got better at the game and began to play more competitively, I realized there were some inconsistencies with my shots. After doing some research, reading reviews, and handling some of the paddles at local sporting good stores, I held this one and decided to get it.The feel of this paddle is far superior to anything I've used to date. The grip is soft and has plenty of cushion so it feels great in my hand. The paddle is noticeably lighter than any other paddle I've used. The surface has a nice feel, gritty and helps me really get some top-spin on my serves and my backhand spin is awesome.I've definitely noticed a difference in the sweet spot and my ability to control my shots with this. The mid-range paddles seemed to have a smaller sweet spot and I would often overpower the shot. If I hit off center enough, the older paddles had a noticeable thud sound and the ball just died. With this one, the sound is consistent just about anywhere you hit the ball (on the surface of the paddle) and I've had less shots go out past the opponent's baseline. It's also better on dinks at the kitchen line as I'm not lofting it up over the net as much. For anyone who plays often, or is looking to improve control, I feel like this is the way to go. Invest in a good paddle and reap the benefits of the design. I've only had it a couple weeks, so I can't comment on the surface of the paddle and how it will hold up, only time will tell. And the best part was that Amazon had it for 50 bucks less than other places, so it was a no-brainer once I knew I was looking to invest in a new paddle.

A little Pricy but it's good.
So, this paddle is awesome. But is it a hundred bucks more awesome than my last paddle? Not sure, but here's what it does do. It is super light and the control is amazing. If you have trouble with your dink battles and have plenty of power without help from the paddle, you will love this. Now, the pop off the paddle is a little less than I'm used to and I needed to get used to that and feel comfortable with hitting it harder when in the deep court. If you have the means, it is pretty awesome. If you are on a budget, I just don't think the price is worth it. There are plenty of good options under 150 bucks. Good luck, one more game!!!!!I'm adding an edit to this because I think it is important. I bought some 3gm weights and started out adding one to the top and one to each side. With the 9gm of weight it produced additional accuracy on the long shots. Hoever, a bit too heavy now. So, I cut the wights by 40% so now I have about 5gm total. Folks this is absdolutely amazing now. The long game accuracy now matches the short game control. Covered it with some fancy edge tape to complete the look. Awesome!!!! I LOVE this Paddle!

Nice balance, nice control
I'm only a 3.0 player, but I decided to splurge for this wonderful thing.I like the lack of a ridge around the border.I like the appropriate traction against the ball that the carbon fiber surface provides - not that I have much in the way of spinning skills, but it does help my general accuracy. It "thwawks" better when striking the ball off the sweet spot. The hole in the face allows for more surface area where I need it.The grip was very nice for me (I have large hands).

luv this paddle
perfect for me, a bit pricey, but after researching many this one seems to fit me best. I have tremendous spin in tennis, and I buy my rackets and strings to fit my spin so i decided to do the same with my paddle. It works. Love the spin, the feel, the reach. Good buy!

Design up holding
Our local pro reps Selkirk paddles and I have tried many of them. He and many in our group use this paddle and love it. I do too.I received money and a gift certificate for my birthday and was So excited to splurge to get this paddle in April 2024. I love the paddle. I play about 5 days a week. It's just coming up on 5 months with actually 2 month of no play and the logo hasn't held up.One of the others have had theirs for over a year and half and no one else has had the logo issues. I am not sure if it's just the gold color paddles as their's are blue and red.It may not be fair to give this a 3 star as I do love the paddle, yet I just wanted to draw you're attention to think twice about getting a gold one. I liked having a different color paddle as it's easier to identify my paddle when playing in big groups.Since I wrote this, I reached out to selkirk directly and they are sending me a new paddle! This is honorableI changed to a 4 star just because of the original happening yet I do love the paddle and would give it's play a 5 Star!

Great control paddle
I am a rather new player. Read all the reviews on. These are pretty much as advertised a great control paddle. The difference was immediate. Also has less power than a thinner paddle.Tremendous difference in my control of serves and returns.People been telling me that the paddles really don’t make a difference at this stage of my racquetball development, would this made a significant immediate difference over the $100 to $130 paddles I’ve been using.Budget $20 more for a case.

Great Paddle
Good feel and control. Know that I will have a learning curve, but first few time out, hitting shots that I have not hit with force before. Really love this paddle!
