Spillproof Urinal - Male Healthcare

I care full time for my father with dementia. As a GP I had never come across this revolutionary design. I normally get woken up to help him urinate 4-5 times a night. I no longer have to hold onto the urine bottle when he urinates. Putting it in position is easier and more comfortable than cheap traditional urine bottles as it has a thick, rounded lip. After looking at some reviews where their bottle had leaked, I resolved to buy one anyway and glue or gaffer tape the seal if it did. I bought two and neither have leaked, although I took care to make sure the thread was aligned well and tightened before testing with some water. To empty the bottle you have a choice of two caps, an easy to use white one or a red child proof one. Fortunately my father doesn't play around with this, so I can use the white one. I demonstrated how leak proof the bottle was to his surprised GP recently, by chucking it across the room when full of urine. If you are a healthcare professional, please realise that having a leak proof bottle like this, is such a great relief to a tired carer in the middle of the night. The bottle has to be tilted slightly more than a traditional urine bottle so you still have to watch the angle at which the bottle is being used. This bottle has made my quality of life very much better and continues to do so after several months use, with no sign of deterioration.

This is a brilliant product -- we've purchased maybe 9 or 10 of these previously -- and it is far better than the NHS version on offer (which isn't non-spill) and the ONLY complaint we have (besides it's a little pricey) is that your should NOT remove the green plastic-end when cleaning it... Plastic warps over time (and from using hot water to clean the bottle out) so very often it doesn't go back tightly and securely enough so can start to leak from that end of the bottle.Just remove the white cap to empty it and use disinfectant and hot water -- poured in from the green-end -- to keep it germ free. Yes, over time, some residue will build up inside the bottle... BUT this doesn't make it unusable, it just isn't looking as clean and the urine-colour inside the bottle isn't so easy to see. (If urine colour needs to be checked, pouring the bottle into the loo helps to answer that question.) Brilliant design, just don't be over zealous constantly taking it apart... there's no real need... and if the bottle becomes discoloured/unsightly... get another one if it bothers you, it doesn't make it unusable...

If you invest in one thing to care for a newly disabled person at home - buy this. The no spill design and the glow in the dark handle will save you laundry and sleep.

Really helped me at times wheny bladder pain and symptoms flaired up. Which is often. Great for urge incontinence for the bed side. It's hardly discreet so like to hide it if I have guests. Great that it glows in the dark.The handle has fallen off and nowhere to be seen. But the design makes it plenty easy to use without.Cleaning it is easy. Make sure to regularly clean the tank and the entry site. Don't want a build up of anything you put your goods in. Bleach was fine for ongoing cleaning.

Actually a really good bottle. Holds a good volume of fluid without spilling. It can be us3d easily in bed or from a wheelchair..We chuckled at the glow in the dark handle but its actually a really good feature in very low light /the middle of the night. Its easy to clean. My only reservation is the plastic skrew in attachement for the anti spill device feels like it might 'round out' but so far so good . Not the cheapest, and depending how long it lasts will depend on whether i'll spend this much again, but so far so good.We have also found its a little large to put into a rucksack , but great for in the home

Pro: sturdy and easy to use and clean; handle glow is a good idea, though obviously better to use it in a well-lit area.Cons: Much bulkier outline than expected though seems to occupy only the same amount of space that the long neck rivals need; Despite size, the internal capacity is not as generous as you might think it should be; Always leaks through main cap if only half contents inside and tilted at 45 degrees e.g. like the second illustration on page 2 of the instructions which claims the contrary. Luckily tested with water over the sink when received, so cannot trust it with impunity if used in a cavalier fashion within bed linen, that’s for sure! I’m unable to understand the reviews that say it’s like a hermetically sealed box you can virtually wrestle with! Another review also reveals that the red child-proof cap (a bit of a pain to operate compared to the regular white one) is also prone to leakage if not carried horizontally, though this is as yet untested. Stop press update: it DOES leak from this area with only a small amount inside if vertical. Returned for replacement.I note that the NRS website disallows reviews of this item, and there are none to view which is somewhat surprising.I’m just treating it as a useful extra for nighttime emergency use, but it’s far from ideal.NRS and other reviewers tend to blame leaks on cross-threading the caps, but mine were both accurately and tightly fitted, so it does seem there are QC issues. This has been confirmed somewhat by the replacement not leaking, but this can’t be guaranteed long-term.

This is the best men’s urinal I’m on my third the system allows things to breath and no urine smell or on hands like others when taking top off because there is no top , before brexit this was half the price it’s made in France thanks very much brexiteers . Quality product and design

Good design and works well until you go over the 1ltr mark on the bottle, then it can and does spill as I found out recently, not impressed.
