i gave my great granddaughter a sewing machine for Christmas. When I saw this foot, I thought is was a "must-have" as an added safety feature. I put it on her machine and it seems to work really well as intended. The portion of the foot that is in front of the needle is high enough to help keep little fingers from accidentally getting under the needle. While nothing is guaranteed, this is a positive step on the side of safety.

My 6yr old is getting into sewing but is terrified of sewing her fingers. This is perfect! Protects the little fingers and she can see the fabric.

I’m teaching my six year old to sew. It works great on the Janome New Home we got her for Christmas, but it did not work on my Bernina 215. It’s not a necessity, but it gives her daddy a little extra peace of mind.

I love the cover for the needle. The clear foot that is included keeps falling off. This is a low shank set up. After attached you lift the presser foot up and down to place the material and it becomes misaligned the foot falls off!The needle cover is great stays on well. I use the 1/4 foot (metal) that came with my Babylock Zest. My son who is 7 loves his new sewing machine! This cover reduces the chances he will hurt his fingers when sewing.I think this product needs to be better advertised as it is a must for any child who is learning to sew.Great product! Be sure to combine the original 1/4 foot for your particular machine and it will work. Definitely a must for children! Would purchase again and recommend highly!

Safe presser foot for teaching kids to sew. Great idea. I like the sew safe items.

I'm teaching my 7 year-old granddaughter to sew. I stop at her house one day a week after work and we spend about an hour learning. Actual time at the machine sewing is usually less than 30 minutes. I bought this foot 8 weeks ago and it broke last week. Also, even though it is made of a clear plastic, it makes it difficult to see where the needle and fabric meet, because of the bulk. I had high hopes for the foot, but we'll continue with a regular foot. Not worth replacing.

Very useful for learner sewers to avoid accidents.One drawback is that it is quite thick (keep keep fingers at bay) but it makes visibility difficult in the presser foot area while you are sewing.
