Almost always with me
Superb balance of wind resistance and breathability. Perfect for my bike commutes. Just add an insulation layer underneath in cooler conditions. It is great!

Best jacket EVER!
A native Oregonian who never knew what they were missing by not owning this awesome windbreaker. As lightweight as anything I've ever seen and extremely practical.

Awesome
Ultralight, packable, water resistant, breathable, looks good, and it’s great in wind. Don’t wear it in a downpour, but other than that, it’s a great multitasker that will always have a spot in my pack. This thing feels like it was made for Colorado weather.

My favorite jacket
Perfect as an ultra light weight wind stopper and light rain jacket.

Ultra lightweight and breathable wind jacket.
I'm 166 lbs, 5 ft 8 in tall. Size large fits my body well. Cuffs are too loose even with the partial elastic Mountain Hardwear adds causing sleeves to slide down over my hands. Took my jacket to a tailor who added elastic around the entire cuff - problem solved. But, I shouldn't have to do this - MH take note! Otherwise quite pleased with the jacket. Decent at stopping wind while being nicely breathable.

Patagonia Houdini Killer
On the lookout for an ultralight windbreaker, you can immediately tell there is a step up in creature comforts with this jacket. I have a Houdini and knowing I had a jacket on I kept subconsciously going for hand pockets which only this mountain hardware jacket has. Sure I won’t use them on my trail runs but they’re there. The fabric is much less crinkly and stretches more. The drawstrings on the Houdini are an absolute joke whereas the elastic hems on the mountain hardware fit as needed. This mountain hardware jacket has a slimmer overall cut (both in medium) but better fitting chest/back. 30g heavier but worth it in every way.

So light but surprisingly warm..
I had gotten one of these jackets yrs ago and love it. My concerns were that it is so light and thin that I would leave it in restaurants so I bought another one. I put it in a plastic bag in my knapsack when I travel, great for planes. I'm very surprised how warm it is and the hood which barely takes up room makes it great for windy wet days. This is a must have travel jacket!!I'm a size 40 jacket and like the XL size.

this jacket has pockets !
I have been looking for a windbreaker with pockets on the sides for a long time. You would be surprised at how many ultra lightweight windbreakers that do not have side pockets. Very lightweight. Perfect jacket for packing. Not a rain jacket but light rain it would be ok. I mainly use this for backcountry camping and cycling.
