Surprisingly decent ultralight rod
Bought this rod for backpack fishing in remote mountain, lakes, and streams And it works perfectly. My experience, most 5 foot two-piece Ultralight rods feel a little bit on the stiffer side, but this rod is true to the ultralight fast action rating. I typically throw 1/32-1/16oz Lures and this rod is able to cast them pretty Decent. Still doesn’t compete with a 6’ or 6’6” rod as far as casting ultra light lures but it can still hold its own. The blank has a good backbone With just enough flexibility. For $35 I was a little skeptical, but Shimano did a good job with this rod. I’d also like to note, As somebody who has purchased many fishing rods from Amazon, You typically have a 50-50 chance of the rod being damaged during shipping. Amazon is notorious For shipping fishing rods in a box without any protection. This rod was packaged inside of a box with a bunch of packing material And that box was inside of another box with Packing material. 10/10 on the packaging of this rod Amazon! Ultimately, if you were looking for a mini ultralight rod, I would definitely recommend this rod for the money.

Shimano 5’ spinning rod
Was in store for a smaller rod to take along and this Shimano fit the bill. A great addition when bank fishing where there is a lot of brush and trees along the bank.

Horrible quality control
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Horrible rod, ordered 2 and rods have chipped eyelets constantly cutting my line, I shouldn’t be replacing eyelets on a brand new rod.
