Sewing Pattern - 1885 Morning Frock Pattern, size 14.. As taken from the original pattern text: 'This costume which in the model is of porcelain blue serge, is in two pieces-a kilt skirt and a jacket with a bouffant Moliere vest. For the simple skirt a kilt flounce about a yard deep, extending high enough to have its upper edge covered by the jacket, is mounted on a foundation skirt that is gored slightly at the top and is two yards and a quarter wide around the bottom. The front edges of the jacket and the lower edge of the frills that trim the sleeves and bottom are buttonhole-stitched in scallops with silk of the same color, and a narrow vine of embroidery is worked inside the edge. Ribbon bows are placed at the throat and waist.' As it was thought the home sewer could fabricate a skirt per instructions and dimensions as given above, the pieces were not furnished in such publications as this came from therefore, only the pieces of the jacket are furnished in this pattern. 8-1/4 yards of 44" fabric required for the complete dress Complete 8-piece pattern in size 14 (32" bust, 26" waist, 35" hip)
