Tag Town: The Evolution of New York Graffiti Writing

Disclaimer: I was at the same college as the author/photographer 50+ years ago and she did the photos of my wedding. I have seen her twice in the intervening 50 years. She impressed me then as an oustanding photographer with a keen eye for the social context of the pictures she takes, and those qualities have only grown over the years. This is an engrossing and beatiful book.

Bought this as a gift and my friend was so stoked on it. Highly recommend!

Half azz book on tags

This is a great read, and look. The pics of the original tags are nostalgic and the documentation is thorough. "Tag this book!"

For the hardcore, or history seekers, or the curious... Martha Cooper was fortunate to live in the right time and place (and insightful enough) to capture images that can and never will be possible again. thank goodness this small part of history was not lost. Love it.
