This unit came scratched like a few other people have pointed out has happened to them as well as the box being a little beat up too but this is not something I cared about (but reflected in the score).I was fed up with getting inconsistent results with an iron when making PCBs and the first one I did with this was almost perfect and fool-proof. This is with a 1.5mm PCB board and several passes (way over recommended size to fit through the slot on the machine). It wasn't really meant for what I'm using for as the PCB will 'ping' out as soon as it's past the rollers due to it being thicker than the rollers were designed to accommodate. There is a jam release function but it only works in one direction which might be why people are saying it doesn't work. All it does is disconnect the rollers from the motor, it does not open up the rollers.This review will hopefully help someone who needs a laminator to abuse for their PCB adventures.

For the price point I don’t think you’ll find better. I’ve used maybe 10 times so far and each time it’s been perfect, no jamming/burning/crinkling of the pages like my old machine. It warms up in a minute or so, quite compact and very simple to use straight out of the box.I would say that like anything, if you are planning on using it in a professional manner, for example, a teacher laminating hundreds of sheets a month then investing in something ‘professional’ would be better suited. When shopping on a budget I think it should be understood you are buying just that, however for a budget friendly option for home use - perfect.

The laminator worked perfectly for a while, although it became VERY HOT very quickly. Then the machine completely stopped heating at all, despite the lights being on.VERY DISAPPOINTED as it was hardly used.

I have seen some poor reviews. There is a bit of a learning curve to achieve good results but isn't there always?. It works best with heavier grade paper (my best result was a double sided document that was two sheets back to back) and with also better quality envelopes than those supplied. It is important to feed the document carefully and apply very gentle counter traction (hold the document firmly) as it goes through the rollers to ensure that it all remains completely flat. It then produces a very good wrinkle-free result.

I had heard that the cheaper laminators work fine if you just want to hammer out sheets, but this one (brand new) runs warm rather than scolding hot when the sheet comes out and the laminate wrinkles in the middle part of the sheet. I am a heavy user of laminators and used to working around issues but this is unworkable, it ruins every sheet 😭 😭😱
