I bought these rifflers to remove part line flash on an HO scale boiler casting that runs between rivets and other fine details, so it's pretty important to be able to work with the fine pointed ends of the tools. The diamond particles do remove metal quickly, and they cut in both directions - an advantage over files. In hindsight it would have been better to pick one or two higher quality rifflers with the shapes I was most interested in. I picked this set because the reviews were very positive, so I was surprised by the uneven coating.

Well made, use for 3D printing and woodworking.

Poor coverage
First off, red handles, not yellow. Wanted yellow for easy ID on bench amongst red diamonds. Not a biggie, but caveat. The big problem is the missing areas of diamond where it's supposed to be on every one of these files. Whole areas, no abrasion in areas. And, of course, the missing stuff is right where you want the file to operate. Junk.

Filing in tight spaces = conquered.
I bought this set to file some tight spots on a commissioned piece of jewelry I was working on. The tools were the perfect size to get under half-jumprings I used for a hidden bail, and along the 2 layers of metal I soldered together. The only reason I don't give a 5/5 star review is that the coating is a bit harsh - these are likely meant for heavy-duty filing, but with their diminutive size, it doesn't make sense.
