and they have changed my life for the better. I have seen these in stores for Female
18 Years ago I had radiation treatment for prostate cancer, and over the years I have lost much of my lower bowel control. It had got to the point where I did not want to go out into the public. I often wore "male diapers", which is noisy, bulky and awkward. About a year ago, I found these Butterflys on Amazon, and they have changed my life for the better. I have seen these in stores for Female, but not for Male. . .anyway, they work great to a point (that point being they can be overwhelmed by very loose bowels). (Only happened to me once, and that was at home). Over the past year (since finding the Buterfly, I have made two Airplane trips and twice I have driven over 500 mile in one day with no bowel problem. With the Butterfly and some prior planning there is no reason to stay home. PRIOR PLANNING: If I am going on a long trip or if my bowels are loose, I take two Anti-diarrhea pills the night before, . . .put on my butterfly and go.Now, to the Butterfly it's self. Follow the instructions inside the box. The first few times it is a little awkward , but after a few times it becomes second nature. . .nothing to it. The "BIGGIE" is their shape and the way the adhesive holds it into place comfortably (all day).

Do the job, lots better than adult diapers
(psst!) These are the same size as the women's XL. They didn't have any of the men's M/L the last time I ran out, so I bought the women's one instead even though (gasp!) I'm a man. Both work fine. Better and more comfortable than a bit of folded toilet paper. BUT you will use a new one every time you have a bowel movement, take a shower or even most of the time you pass gas, so they can get $$$ in a hurry. My solution is to use the folded toilet paper when I'm only an hour or so away from a shower or if I'm enjoying the thrill of diarrhea and hopping on the toilet every few minutes. Whatever. Way better, more comfortable, and less expensive than adult diapers. Best of all, of course, is not to get old and sick. :(

Better off using a mini pad/panty liner...
Tried these and went back to using a panty liner for women. Larger area of coverage, doesn't leak thru and the adhesive sticks well to my cotton shorts. They are also a whole lot cheaper. Just don't get hung up on using a feminine hygiene product. You can buy them online or at a discount store.

I can take it or leave it
Has minimal, if any, advantage over my normal practice of using three sheets of folded toilet paper. The adhesive is of little value. It actually has a tendency to keep the pad in the wrong place.

Two Stars
not for semi active people, small areas of adhesive do not hold in place

Could be wonderful product for those who need it
THIS REVIEW REFERS TO THE PRODUCT BEFORE APPARENTLY IT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY CHANGED:Superb product for those who "leak" from the rear end, for whatever reason. I have used pieces of gauze, roiled up facial tissues, and one or two other makeshift ways of dealing with this problem. Butterfly is a far better way to cope with anal leakage than any of the homemade methods I've used. You need to be aware that this product is not intended to deal with flat-out incontinence. Don't expect it to do what it doesn't claim to do. It does a good job handling leaks. You also need to be aware that it probably will take some experimentation and practice to learn how to place a Butterfly properly so that it is comfortable and works to its maximum potential. It is not difficult at all to place it properly and comfortably, but you should expect to have to use a few of these things initially for practice just to get the hang of it. It won't take long to be able to quickly and easily position the Butterfly correctly, and you will probably be surprised at how quickly you become accustomed to using it and will barely notice it is there. Don't give up on it just because it may not feel "just right" the very first time. You'll be missing out on a product that, for those who need it, does its job very well and very comfortably if you don't give it a fair chance. Very highly recommended.

Suggestions on how to use from fellow customer
This is a great product that my wife mentioned to me last year as something that would be likely helpful to my patients (I am a physician) and myself since I have had a bowel leakage problem since early childhood (due to a genetic issue). DISCLAIMER! THE FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS ARE NOT MEDICAL ADVICE BUT RATHER A DISCUSSION OF MY OPINIONS AS ONE HUMAN BEING WHO HAS USED THE PRODUCT TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING LOOKING FOR HELP. IMPORTANT!! Always get diagnosis and treatment recommendations from your qualified medical professional for a problem of this nature. You don't want to miss a treatable / correctable issue. I find it helpful to fold the liner down the middle and crease it.This helps with placement of the liner in the middle of the buttock cheeks. Also, if my hemorrhoids are acting up, these liners can be coated along the crease with my prescription hemorrhoid meds and it reduces the pain and helps absorb blood and lubricate the painful area.(don't get it on the adhesive). This was done at the suggestion of my physician and it helps significantly-ask your medical professional. product received on time and as described. Good Vendor.

I was pleased with the product
I bought this product to use when I have hemorrhoid issues and need to use a suppository. They are generally effective in absorbing any leakage. The only problem I had was that sometimes the pad did not stay in place well. The mild adhesive that causes the pad to stick perhaps could be a little bit stronger. Overall, I was pleased with the product, and it accomplished the purpose for which I bought it.
