Read this if you love the Classical period, are fascinated by history and mysticism....this is the beautiful story of how ancient religious practices survive underground in the midst of persecution by conquering religions....also full of human interest and realism. As a lover of the Classical Gods, I found the description of an encounter with the Lord Apollo most beautiful and stirring...the depictions of temple life are very true to history. Highly recommend this book.
