Q: how big are the zippered pockets ?

On mine the pockets are ~6" wide. The zippers are ~6" long, but the pockets extend ~1" above the tops of the zippers.

Q: I really like the design and fit.. but it has sheen - make me fell like an entertainer at night in the restaurant. Anyone else notice it or just me?

It's just you. I have several of these and they all have a similar synthetic finish as all of my other various boating and fishing shirts by 6 or 7 other manufacturers. The finish is nothing like those silk and rayon shirts that really DO have a shiny sheen. While the finish on these is not really one that actual tactical shirts have, it’s a very practical finish for outdoor sportswear. And my several friends who also have these shirts all seem to agree.
