Great Value
Product of Vietnam, but the brand is from Japan. The packed mackerel is quite chunky and meaty, but the odor is quite mild compared to other brands, which is nice.

A Convenient Protein Option
Pros:Convenient and Portable: These come in single-serve pouches, perfect for lunchboxes or on-the-go snacks.Good Source of Protein: Mackerel is a protein powerhouse, making this a great option for those looking to increase their protein intake.Variety of Uses: Enjoy it straight from the pouch, or add it to salads, crackers, or sandwiches for a flavor boost.Dietary Certifications: HALAL and Kosher certified, making it suitable for those with specific dietary restrictions.Gluten-Free: A safe option for those with gluten intolerance.Wild-Caught: May appeal to consumers who prefer wild-caught seafood.Cons:Strong Flavor: Mackerel has a strong, fishy flavor that may not be for everyone.Bones: Be aware that these fillets may contain small bones.Limited Use: While versatile, the strong flavor may not suit all recipes.Sodium Content: Check the sodium content, as canned fish can sometimes be high in sodium.Overall:A convenient and nutritious protein option, particularly for those who enjoy mackerel. The single-serve pouches make them ideal for lunches or snacks, and the HALAL and Kosher certifications broaden their appeal. However, the strong flavor and potential for bones may be drawbacks for some.

What's cooking
Seems like the fish is a bit overcooked and being water packed it doesn't soften like an oil packed fish. I like the packaging but probably not order again.

mackerel, large box of individual sealed packs
Usually I prefer fish that's been packed in olive oil, but when I was offered these for review of course I had to say yes. I also usually get cans. But Im ready to admit that these little envelope packs weigh less and are more easily portable since no can opener is required. I usually use this kind of fish in soups are saucy dishes, korean stews, or tomato-based recipes. The consistency is similar to tuna fish, so although its challenging to find "mackerel"-specific recipes online, you can pretty much swap them in for tuna and it's fine.

Here fishy fishy...
I have been using these packets while on my diet. I'm able to get some protein and Omega 3 without sacrificing flavor. The fish is pretty flavorful and tastes great. The best part is the ingredients. Fish, water and salt. Nothing that shouldn't be there. I have about 10 packages left and I will definitely reorder this again.

Great Packet Fish For The Dogs
What can I say. Fish brined in water so I don't have to think about the complexity of buying, cleaning or cooking fish for my dogs. Yeah, I am that person. These packets are so easy and my dogs love them. Fish is a great protein to add to a dog's diet and who doesn't love the simplicity of opening a packet and never having to touch the fish.As a bonus my husband even likes it on top of cauliflower rice. I am not a fish person, so no thank you.The fish is not terribly smelly and is super easy to pull out of the packet with a spoon. It has just 130 mg of sodium which is very low for packet fish.Everybody wins.

Convenient way to get your fish protein in!
Very convenient to pop one of these into a dish that you prepared on top of rice. It provides necessary fish protein into your diet seamlessly. I liked that this was brined in water rather than oil, which helps make it healthier and have less sodium as well. The fish itself doesn’t have much of a flavor since it is just in salted water. This was good since you can add sauces and other seasoning to it. Also a good value since it is individually packed and sealed. This way it stays fresh for a long time.
