Not sure about for training purposes, but my grandkids and I have fun throwing it around.
Hi! So my main reason for getting this was Not as a practice squad thing as it was to work with my grandkids on hand eye coordination and have fun without getting popped in the face with an actual football. Fair warning. The first time I lubricated the needle and inserted it, it the fill area popped loose inside of the outer area. I was able to line it back up and air it up. Since then it’s been about 10 days and holding air very well. We have played with about 6 hours plus of steady tossing it around and kicking it and normal 6 and 12 and Me year old stuff. 😂 we are rough on stuff. So it impressed me, and hopefully, impresses upon you, it’s a tough well built unique ball. Now, I don’t know what cutting off part of a ball does to improve practice, but I do know we had fun and it’s durable. It’s softer and won’t hurt as bad when ya miss time the catch and take it in the face. LolI sure hope this review helps. I’d buy it again.

Pleasantly surprised
I was skeptical, but this thing is very fun to toss around. Some people commented that you can’t fully grip it like a normal football. That is not true. They are holding it backward. You need to throw it with the blunt end facing forward so it bounces smoothly of the wall and you can hold the pointed back end naturally, just like any other football.

Great Product
My 11 year old loves this, he throws with it everyday after school when no one is around to play catch with a regular football. We have only had a for a week but it is holding up well with everyday use. Had no problems blowing it up and holding air which other reviews had stated was an issue. Would highly recommend.

Not the best quality
My son is super excited for this football to come, and when it did, we pumped it up and the rubber part that the pump goes into fell right inside the football and so if it ever loses air we won’t be able to fill it back up

Works great
Bought the product for my son to do warmups with before games so he can use his time wisely. The bounce back helps out tremendously

Awesome training tool
Seriously, get your pee-wee QB one of these and a rebound net (believe me you don't want them bouncing this off the garage door) and they can throw to their hearts content anytime they like.I got the official size version of this ball for my son who is on JV this year and he really loves it so I ordered the smaller one for my 8U players. They could have done a slightly better job on the laces on this one but it 's nothing that will interfere with it usefulnessHighly recommended!

Once you get it inflated, it's a fun tool for training or solo fun
Received the first one, and the inflation need point was stuck inside the outer skin, meaning I couldn't get it inflated. Initiated a replacement through Amazon.Second one I received was set properly, and I was able to inflate.Ball bounces back to you when the flat side is what lands. I showed my kids how it worked by bouncing on the ground, but it also works being thrown against a solid surface: wall, house, or if you do it right: a tree! It's not full youth football sized, but a little smaller, so it's great for little hands. It's pretty catchable for little hands on your young aspiring Wide Receivers as well as easier to learn to throw for your blossoming Quarterbacks, so to that end...it's a great training tool!
