Are the table knives serrated or straight-edge?

They are straight edge, but I find the blades to be very sharp -- even sharper than some serrated knives I have had in the past. Have had no problem cutting, even meat.

is the knife hollow handle?

The knife handle is not hollow; it has weight, balanced nicely, not flimsy. This is very nice flatware, esp for the money. You won’t be disappointed.
