The companion album to A Night at the Opera. if you have one, you must have the other or else you just aren't a Queen fan.

A day at the races vinyl 2015.issue.
Classic companion to NATO and this 2015 is a leap forward in vinyl mastering and production. I know this album back to front and I can assure you it is an even bigger joy now than it was forty years or so ago buying the original.

Some real classics.
I am a huge Queen fan and am slowly reviewing my vinyl collection, which I have upgraded to the heavy vinyl. I took my time with this review as I find this a hard album to review. The hardest of all the Queen albums to review actually for me. The problem is that it has just about my favourite song of all time - Somebody to Love - an amazing track that (in my opinion) outshines BH by a mile. I also really enjoy You Take my Breath Away & Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy. Teo Torriatte is an enjoyable ending too. The problem is, after that the album doesn't really do it for me. I don't find myself thinking that I must go and give this album a play, there are a lot of other Queen albums that would be far ahead of this (Queen II, Kind of Magic, Innuendo, Opera- even Made in Heaven). I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe the band were struggling to follow Opera - and the album is clearly Opera Part 2 (the cover is the black version of the same, like side black, side white of Queen 2). Problem is, like a sequel, it doesn't quite cut it. The tracks are not bad (apart from White Man, which I just don't like) - but they are not very memorable either. Aside from all this the heavy vinyl and sound is amazing - and it is a solid album, but not their best.

A great album, as it should be on vinyl.
