Very interesting look into a future
It maybe how I interpret life’s journey. This story, the beginning of a series, has a solid base of characters and environments. There are many instances where personal ethics and morals are put to the test. Individual striving for a team of highly trained professionals to become a family. Connected, caring team that works in harmony. Strong characters. Both male and female. All that and a good story line. I will continue the adventure.

Great book
This was a very interesting and very good book. I was surprised by some of the information That was included. That Some of the thoughts put into it. And just the concept alone was a very unique story. Most of what I liked was the mystery. But the action and intrigue grew as the story went. It left me extremely curious so I'm off to find or wait for the next book. Thank you

Somewhat Deceptive Box Set
Star Force Origin Series 1-4 Box Set by Aer-ki JyrThis is a set of four brief novellas which must be intended to set the stage for a series of books about a conflict between Earth and an advanced extraterrestrial civilization. the book begins in 2022 when scientists in Antarctica discover an ancient pyramid buried under the ice and frozen soil. The story then briefly covers the formation of a space force to leverage the advanced technology discovered to prepare a defense against possible invasion from the stars. What I Liked:The book is pretty well-written in many ways. The author handles dialogue well, and he creates a believable sense of place. The descriptions work to immerse the reader in a believable world. Typos are there to be found, but the book is better than average in this respect. This is a clean read with a refreshing lack of obscenities and blue language. There is no gratuitous sex scenes, unless a kiss on the cheek counts as sex. This despite the rather suggestive cover with a beautiful girl in a skin-tight costume. I especially liked the first five chapters of book one. The story of exploring the alien pyramid and artifacts really hooked me, and I really thought I had found a great sch-fi read. What I Did Not LikePretty much everything else went down-hill after the first "book" called "Inception." As I said, it started off well, then went pretty much off the rails from there. The rest of the book centered around the training of 100 young people for the Space Force. They trained and trained and trained. And that was pretty much it.There were a number of characters that we meet. Paul was seen most often, but there were Megan, Morgan, Jason and others. Most were not memorable and were pretty much interchangeable parts. I did not detect any character growth. Frankly, novellas 2-4 could have easily condensed into one. Too much detail! After all that training, then the "box set" just ends. No ending to reward the reader for slogging through the mind-numbing repetition. The author did include some background information to fill in a 15-year gap between the discovery of the artifact and the Space Force training. He said that some explain the existence of humans on earth by an "intelligent all-powerful being or God," while some explain it by "gradual evolution." But he says that neither is true. Humans were brought to earth as slaves of an intelligent race of dinosaurs.OK, this idea is not exactly original in the wold of sci-fi. But logically, it does not prove that either intelligent design by God or the idea of evolution is wrong. It merely moves the question to another planet,, the original home of humans. So when he says "neither story is true,' the information he gives shows no such thing.Besides the repetitive chapter after chapter of training, the lack of character growth and the lack of an ending, I was especially annoyed by the deceptive title. This was advertised as a "box set" of four novels. But each novel is really a short novella of 70-89 pages. So, dear reader,, if you think you are getting four normal-length novels, you are not. All four of these amount to one rather short novel. Not really a box set. This is deceptive. Conclusion:This novel probably rates two stars. But I give it three stars because of the first five chapters, which I liked a lot. But readers need to be aware of the serious shortcomings of the read as a whole. THREE STARS

My favorite science fiction series
I have read the whole series from beginning to end three times and read my favorite books in the series more times than I can count. Definitely my favorite science fiction series of all time.

A military space exploration series
My first problem that it took nearly half the book to have an actual female character, and even so the females aren't in there very much. We are half the planet. There are grammatical mistakes, but those are common with many authors. This treated training a space forces of video game, which in some ways would kind of have to be true because simulations are the ways to do things without getting people killed. This is a very interesting premise with several very good characters. In the future I hope that the author does better with characterization and understands that women are half the population.

All Narrative, No Progress
I love Sci-fi, so much so that I'll read through almost anything... and I did read this book. I found myself completely surprised when I arrived at the end of the book and pretty much nothing had happened. No denoument necessary because no real problems were overcome and no characters were truly developed. The underpinnings of the book hold so much promise that just wasn't delivered. While the prose was decently written, the small tangents into clearly political rants were distracting. I just want to escape with my sci-fi. Solid world building is the minimum expectations and I don't think this book achieved that.

Absolutely wonderful
An amazing find under the ice in Antarctica. A small team of researchers have discovered Santa Claus 's grass. In a remote spot that is not frozen. One researcher stumbles on an unusual rock that seems warm from an external heat source. Contacting base they are ordered to hunker down till an excavation crew to be sent. This begins a story line of great importance to the last and the future of humanity and the Earth. That hopefully will lift us up for the future!

A great start to an excellent series
Having now worked my way through the Origin series, some of which being so edge gripping I just didn't want to put the book down I figured it was time to go back and leave a review for all to see.I came into the series from reading Aer's short fan fiction series regarding Stargate and decided to give his main series a go and after reading the Prologue I was desperate to know everything that happened up until then and everything going forward.I've not been disappointed with the series at all and I've really enjoyed reading it and finding out about all the different events going on throughout the series that all lead back up to where the prologue kicks off, and while there are some editing/grammatic mistakes throughout the series they didn't take anything away from the reading.I now move on past the Origin series and into the next phase of this epic Sci-Fi series.

Definitely an original and well thought story
I found the story compelling and fascinating. I read straight through with barely a pause. Human nature is accurately portrayed, and current political road blocks to progress as well. I will look for more from this author.

Get over book one!!
Boring repetitive pages & pages of the same events using the same technique with slightly different tools. I will persevere with book as it has making of a hell of a good story.

So slow…
I saw a book series with 80+! books and thought I should check this out… I am sorry I did.I read to the end of the first three books and they are still finishing their boot camp/training. If you are looking for lots of page filler content, YA writing and slow moving plot then go ahead.I do not reccomemd.

A flowing read
A good read that encouraged you to continue reading. A little mundane at times but this assisted in the development of the characters. Story development was good and built to a point where the aim was starting the next book.
