Great classic game!
I really liked this game when growing up, so I decided to give this one a try and get it for my grandson. It has all of the bells and whistles that make the game really fun to play. I am teaching him how to play and he is really excited about the strategy of the game and how it works. This one is a nice step up from the basic game with no lights and sound. We have been happy with this product and have enjoyed playing it.

Fun Upgrade
This electronic version of Battleship has some fun upgrades. I love the lights and sounds and it makes the game more appealing to younger players. It is pretty easy to learn and to get going, especially if you use some of the presets. There are 200 different presets that the game comes programmed with so it is quickest and easiest to just select one of those and start playing. If you teach a younger player this game with the presets, you can be up and playing in minutes. If you want to select your own locations for the ships, it is a much more complicated process and not really fun.We had an issue with some of the pegs falling out so it was difficult to keep track of what guesses we made. It also makes this game difficult to use while traveling, which is a bummer. This game is a lot of fun and we enjoy playing it. I wish it was less expensive. It is outside of the price range of most gifts, which is a bummer.

Great for an older age
This toy was fun for my son at the start of the summer but he quickly lost interest if we weren’t there to coach him. He likes the original battleship game. I could see this being fun for him in a year or 2. He is currently 7, so I’d reccomend more for the 9-10 year old age group

not the retro battleship
I was excited to find an electronic version to teach my kids like when I grew up playing battleship. But the only way we could make it work was to place the boats in the preprogrammed pattern. I could not get the game to accept my coordinates to play a custom game. It was returned unfortunately.

Nice game, but parts too small
Nice game, but adults have a hard time with the game pieces. They seem too small to pick up and use. this is not the old battleship game, but a different version of it.

It's a more look good lower tier Battleship
So, it basically tries to mimic the advanced Battleship game. If you, like me, have played the electronic Battleship game where you have fighter jets and special abilities for each of your ships, this is basically the same minus ease of use. The plus is this has a single player mode, which I don't remember if Battleship hadWhere this gets harder to figure out is there's a bit of figuring out with this game over how to set up your fleet, then how to do special weapons and such. I believe there is fighters but they are invisible basically. Also, to avoid copyright they changed the colors of the pegs from red and green (at least im pretty sure that's why they've done it)Besides the single player addition the really only other mentionable addition is the shape of the game being like an aircraft carrier, which is cool. However, the spots to keep pegs or ships really doesn't work, as there are openings where the ships and pegs fall through with ease making the slots unusable for long term storage, forcing you to use the containers that come with the game that allow you to put the fleet and pegs in.So, 3-4 stars on this one. It's ok, but even the instructions are a little complicated. So, tiny bit annoying

Better than the classic
This game is fantastic. Is classic battle ship but with more options. The sounds and lights is great. And the fact you can play solo is amazing. Truly elevates the game.

No worth the money
Play area too small. Pegs do not stay in. Sound is hard to understand.
