I thought I would have to wait a long time to get this book - came from Japan. But I had it a lot sooner than I thought - good thing! I was a little worried about getting this book because it's written in Japanese and I don't read Japanese. But the pictures are so detailed that you don't even need to know what it says. This is the kind of book I have been wanting and looking for a very long time. I have read other books but not understood them. It's funny, this book is in Japanese and I understand it better with the detailed pictures! This artist really wants you to learn by how detailed he is. Thank you and I hope to enjoy it and learn a lot of new things. I saw a book like this on Ebay and it went for a high price and it was used. I thought that I would look around on Amazon and I found it and soooo much cheaper and BRAND NEW! I love Amazon - I always find what I am looking for and I am always given choices of brand new or used. I don't think I have shopped Ebay for a very long time now I just go straight to Amazon first.

The first time that I've heard something about doll artist Ryo Yoshida was about five years ago. The doll industry was quit new for me : I was collecthing beautiful collectible dolls at the time and making outfits for them. But then, I soon discover that many people were falling for the spectacular Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (ABJD). I have to admit I was too, but they were a bit expensive for me. But I did love not only their gorgeous face and body, but also like their empressive blushing and painthing!!! Because of that they look sooooo real! I tried several times to buy this book but with no sucess and finally after a year of waithing, I finally got one! Let me tell you, even if the book is japanese, all the informations are there by simply looking all pictures! By doing all steps one at a time you'll be able to create the doll of your dream. This is the perfect book for all novice doll artists to come!

Great resource for BJDs this is one of two I ordered. Even though these books are not in English I still can follow the very detailed pictures and diagrams!

This book is beautiful. A picture book of how to. This reference book and an another class I took made me aware that creating a doll is not only an artistic endeavor but also a hugely technical endeavor that requires patience, perseverance, multiple skills, and supplies. I am so happy to have as a reference book and, if you want to make your own ball jointed dolls, this is a must have book. I am just going to buy my dolls with a much greater appreciation of what the process is.

This is an all encompassing book for anyone from beginners to pros interested in Ball Jointed Doll making. It is in Japanese, but you can find translated to English versions out there. Even if you can't read it, the pictures are fantastic enough to get you through if you are an experienced maker. The only issues you may run into is the specific product labels, which you can find easy enough when researching BJD making.Big, lovely pics inside of Yoshida's work. I would pick this up before anything else about making BJDs. Anything else would be more of an accessory.

Unbelievable great written book- in every way! #1 reference book! Beautiful pics!

I recently got interested in ball jointed dolls and this is one of a few books I bought on the subject.All in Japanese, but the pictures are great. I know a bit of Japanese, which was helpful, but someone without knowledge of the language would still find it very useful.The book is pretty much a pictorial step by step on making ball jointed dolls. It includes sections on design, proportion, sculpting, materials, making ball joints, Painting, hair and even a section on making shoes. If you are considering making a doll of your own, or are just curious about the process, this book is fantastic.

This is a nicely produced book with lots of pictures so it’s possible to see what’s happening even if you don’t speak Japanese. Worth noting that this is not a book detailing mould making or casting. Everything is made with paperclay so worth bearing in mind if you’re looking for instructions for porcelain or resin doll making

I recommend this book if you are interested in making a ball jointed doll from scratch. It is a lovely book, full process from start to finish in pictures make it easy to understand, not only for making the doll but how to add the hair and also to make shoes. After searching I found the written instruction translation into English on the internet although you do need to get the book first.

C'est bien le livre que je souhaitais mais si je l'avais commander moi même au japon je l'aurai eu moitié prix.Sans compter qu'alors que j'avais spécifé une livraison express, on m'a annoncé qu'en fait ce n'était pas possible.Bref, même si au final j'ai accepté les conditions et le mode de livraison au final... c'est un achat avec une satisfaction en demi teinte
