Love it! What else can I say. Puss inBoots is my favorite of all the Dream Works characters and apparently others agree with me. I've seen this DVD probably four times now and I laugh each time as if I've never seen it before. It's the old story of the two friendsm juvenile partners in crime, parting because one betrayed the other, and their reunion and redemption through a final fantastic heist. The cliche has been told a million times in who knows how many crime film dramas. Here it's on a much more fantastic and comedic scale as Puss is reunited with his old orphanage mate Humpty Alexander Dumpty and his partner, the delectable Kitty Softpaws, to find the magic beans growing a beanstalk to the deserted castle where the goose laying the golden eggs lives. My favorite part: The Tuesday Night Dance Fight....litter box moves and all. All the story's great however...the innuendos laughable, the animation fantastic. I love the way Puss alternates between suave Cat about Town and adventurer and plain ol' cat chasing a spot of light around and around and coughing up hairballs. I know I'll be watching it again. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it so I wouldn't be ordering it continually from Netflix!

I was very pleased with this movie . the storyline was not bad at all . the graphics seem to be done very well . if you like the movie shrek . then I'm pretty sure you will like this movie . The only thing that coulda been done a little better in this movie . was some of the recording levels were a bit low . sometimes it's hard to hear some of the characters when they are speaking quietly . I have to turn up the tv so I can hear them when they are whispering . I have ran into this situation before in other movies . I guess it could be my sound system . but overall I really like this movie. cute and entertaining . my girlfriend said it was cute . LOL. I hope this helps you out . Thank you very much.

I waited for the DVD release before seeing PUSS IN BOOTS and I'm sorry I didn't see it in the theaters. I didn't expect PUSS IN BOOTS to be so much fun and it was a pure laugh a minute. Great animation, vivid colors, and delightful realism in places. Of course, it is hard to resist Puss when he does his wide-eyed look. Plus, Antonio Banderas Spanish accent is just wonderful as he plays the lady-charming, swashbuckling Puss in Boots. We learn the history of Puss in Boots and that Humpty Dumpty was his best friend..like a brother..but one who betrayed him turning Puss in Boots into a WANTED but innocent criminal. The movie is almost more for adults than for kids. This is a darker version of some beloved fairy tales. This time, Jack and Jill are a nasty criminal duo. Somehow it's this Jack that has the magic beans to grow the beanstalk to the sky. Soon it is Jack and Jill against Puss in Boots, Humpty Dumpty and the lovely Kitty Softpaws for the magic beans and the chance to steal the Golden Goose. Puss displays a lot of attitude and Banderas has the voice down perfectly. There is also a moral tale at times here about abandoned animals and the reason Kitty has "softpaws". PUSS IN BOOTS is just a totally fun movie. It's silly but all in good fun. It's a great movie when you just want to relax and have an adventure.

Here's another funny cartoon from DreamWorks, along the same lines as their others such as "Shrek", "Madagascar," "Kung Fu Panda", etc. By now you probably now what to expect - lots of funny dialog, goofy antics from anthropomorphic animals, and a basic lesson to be learned. The title character Puss in Boots is of course from the Shrek movies. They flesh out his character and history more here and add others such as Humpty Dumpty, the ex-best friend, and Kitty Softpaws, a female romantic interest for Puss. Puss, Humpty, and Kitty conspire to steal magic beans so they can grow the beanstalk and take the goose that lays golden eggs. Puss is doing it so he can right a wrong - he wants to pay back the town which he unintentionally betrayed. Humpty has seemingly been obsessed with finding the magic beans since he was very young, and he's brought Kitty along as a master thief. Puss was best friends with Humpty years ago until Humpty betrayed him, so he enters into this new alliance somewhat uneasily. In addition to the movie, the discs include a new short film featuring Puss. It's less than half an hour long but extremely funny. Puss ends up with three kittens to oversee and they're a lot more trouble than they look. Much like the movie itself, there were many little details that, as a cat owner, I especially found humor in because the behavior is so like a real cat. You by no means need to be a cat lover to enjoy these films though.

Natürlich kann ich an dieser Stelle noch nichts über die Qualität der DVD/BluRay sagen - sie ist ja noch nicht draußen -; liefere das allerdings nach, denn den Film muss ich kaufen ("muss" im Sinne von meine Kinder verlangen dies seit dem Kinoerlebnis). Der gestiefelte Kater ist zwar als Prequal zu den Shrek-Abenteuern zu verstehen, aber auch als ganz eigenständiger Film zu genießen. Ob man die Filme um das große grüne Etwas kennt oder nicht, spielt einfach keine Rolle. Der Film ist ein Mix verschiedener Kindermärchen und Reime. Es spielen mit: natürlich der Gestiefelte Kater, Hans im Glück, die Gans, die goldene Eier legt, Hans und die Bohnenranke, Humpty Dumpty, ... (die Aufzählung ist bestimmt nicht vollzählig). Den Machern des Films ist es gelungen, die Anleihen an die Kindergeschichten zu verweben und eine eigene Geschichte entstehen zu lassen. Für Kinder, die zu Hause auch Märchen hören, hat der Film hohen Wiedererkennungswert. Im Gegensatz zu den Shrek-Filmen, zu denen ich nie so richtig den Zugang gefunden habe, ist dieser Film schnell erzählt, mit einer Menge kindgerechter Action angehäuft und mit Liebe zum Detail animiert. Inhaltlich geht es - kurz erzählt - darum, dass sich Humpty Dumpty und der Gestiefelte Kater gemeinsam auf den Weg machen, goldene Eier in einem Himmelsschloss zu suchen. Natürlich haben sich Humpty Dumpty und der gestiefelte Kater als Kinder überworfen und so ist das Wiederaufleben der Beziehung etwas schwierig; insbesondere da noch eine Katzendame - Kitty Samtpfote - auftaucht. Das Trio macht sich auf die sagenumwobenen magischen Bohnen, um das Schloss der Gans im Himmel zu finden... und am Ende, ... ja am Ende ist alles anders als man zwischenzeitlich denkt. Der Film ist einfach toll den aktuellen Maßstäben animiert und mit netten Anekdoten gespickt: wer zu Hause eine Katze hat, wird es lustig finden, wie der gestiefelte Kater einem Lichtpunkt hinterher jagd, wie er bei dem Tanzduell mit Kitty Samtpfote tanzt und und und. Im Kino lachten alle Kinder fast unentwegt durch und erschraken sich an mancher Stelle, was danach mit lautem Lachen quittiert wurde. Spannende Szenen (die Suche nach den Eiern im Schloss) wechseln sich mit lustigen oder actiongeladenen Szenen ab. Kinder werden nicht enttäuscht. Aber auch für Erwachsene sind Witze dabei, die die Kinder noch nicht verstehen (für alle die den Film gesehen haben, verweise ich auf die Szene in der Kneipe, in der dem gestifelten Kater die Geschichte im die goldenen Eier mit den Tattoos eines Gastes erzählt wird). Der Film leidet aus meiner Sicht überhaupt nicht an langatmigen oder gar unnötigen Szenen. Insgesamt ist das ein sehr gelungener Familienfilm. ----- Nachtrag vom 26.04.2012 Die Qualität der Bluray ist atemberaubend, man sieht jedes einzelne Härchen der Katzen. Der Sound ist auf einer 5.1-Anlage toll und man fühlt sich förmlich in den Film hineingezogen. Fast bin ich geneigt zu sagen, die Qualität ist nochmal deutlich besser und das ganze Erlebnis besser als im Kino. Einfach toll. Dieser Film gehört aus meiner sich zu den besseren Bluray-Produktionen. Was erwartet uns noch auf der Bluray? Ein kleiner Tanzkurs, eine Reportage über eine richtige lebendige Katze in Californien, die räubernd durch ihr Viertel zieht und kleine Spielsachen bei den Nachbarn mitgehen lässt, ein kleines Spiel und noch so dies und das. Nicht wirklich was Aufregendes. Herauszustellen bleibt allerdings ein kleiner netter Kurzfilm, in dem der gestiefelte Kater von einer Königin auf den Weg geschickt wird, den Rubin aus ihrer Krone dem Wisperer (der Bösewicht, der das Ding geklaut hat) wieder abzunehmen. Ihm im Weg stehen allerdings drei kleine Kätzchen, die für den Wisperer arbeiten. Klar gelingt es dem Kater letztlich... aber selber schauen.

I was very much impressed with its trailer for which I bought the BD. But the movie from the point of view of story is average. Only the good thing is the Puss character who is a delight to watch. The BD has some extras which are enjoyable. Pic quality is great. Audio is great and it got Hindi 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack as well. The BD is manufactured by Reliance and as usually the BD production quality is average. It is priced very highly but I got during an Offer. 800/- MRP would have been great.

There is never anything that I dislike ABOUT THE PUSS IN BOOTS movies.Always enjoyable for a bit of time passing......and I'm 82 years old.
