I like the smell. It lingers on your hand for about thirty minutes to an hour, but is pretty light compared to perfumes, pretty strong for a soap. Yeah, because it’s swole kangaroo! He's a strong guy!It lathers up in watery bubbles (not thick or thin. It’s a medium lather on the thin side). It smells like patchouli fragrances, but it doesn’t have patchouli listed. It has that sharp scent that I associate with it. I don’t smell much amber (too bad) or leather (yay!). I don’t know what cypress smells like. If there’s oud, it’s really light. It really smells like soap, actually. The scent makes me think of that L*va soap my dad used to use after working on the cars. My hands do feel really clean afterward, but it does dry them out so I use lotion afterwards (Granted, it's been really dry lately. It’s 32% humidity indoors today). But it does have Kaolin clay in it, which is usually for oily skin (it absorbs excess oil). I’m using it only as a hand soap for until I can be sure I’m not allergic to anything in it :)NPC A likes it but is worried about the scent being too strong. They like the scent, though. They cut my soap in half so they could use it in the shower. The square shape doesn’t fit in a regular travel soap case (that’s how we keep our bars from melting in the shower). Hmm. NPC C doesn’t like the scent.11/16/23 Update: Today I Learned that it really cleans my makeup brushes well! I just rub my brush on the soap under running water for a bit, put the soap back and rub the soap in a bit more with my fingers and rinse. It got off some really stubborn makeup that my other bar couldn’t. Yay! The half in the shower is already gone. When it was really thin (like 1/16-1/8”), the soap looked lighter in color and had these clear rounded salt like things in it. It was really sparkly.

Soap cleans, and this bar cleans. Sure it does it differently than grocery store big brand soaps, and uses more natural ingredients and oils, but in the end, the goal is clean, and either cleans.This is a nice bar of soap, no question.I'm sure there are long-term studies saying that SLS/SLES and other "chemicals" dry out your skin, and sure, probably, and maybe the oils here are "better."But to call buying this soap an "investment" is ... far fetched.SLS and other sulphates are removed at most city water treatment plants, as would be any oils, natural or otherwise. So you aren't saving the environment here, unless you drain your shower water directly into a nearby creek, which I'd argue isn't most people.Does this soften or moisturize your skin more than SLS-based soaps? Maybe. But Dove Go can too at 1/3rd the price. Or you can moisturize after using soap.I'm confident that the soap is good quality and claims to use natural ingredients, so if that's what you want, great! I question whether or not using this soap alone vs a grocery store bar plus a moisturizer is really going to matter in the grand scheme of 80 years of life, and I'm not sure this soap is that. Wear sunscreen, that's going to be the investment you'll want to make. Soap? Meh.So Excellent quality bar, claims of being an investment seem vastly refutable.

First, I have to mention the tag line on the box, because it’s hilarious “Strap yourself in for an absolute ripper of a scent experience!”. Now, I don’t normally care about branding, but if you’re going to gift a high quality soap bar, you kind of need a hook, and this brand does that. Some people need a little nudge to splurge on something like soap, and this product hits all those bells and whistles.But aside from that, this is a high quality soap. My husband loves it, and says it gives a good lather. I can attest to the smell, which is not overpowering, but subtle and unique. We got the Outback Moss and it stands out compared to more typical smelling soaps.The bar is lasting a long time. I’m actually surprised by how long it’s lasting because he goes through body wash very quickly. He made the mistake of just leaving the bar on the shower ledge the first day and that led to some “melting” and sticking to the ledge. After that, we put it on a soap dish and that solved the problem.His skin feels very clean afterwards, and while the soap isn’t “drying” it’s also not overly moisturizing, in his opinion. He generally always uses moisturizing cream after showers, and that is no different with this soap.We look forward to trying the other scents in the near futureMy star ratings explained:5 stars = Exceptional. So I love that this soap screams unique. I got this for my teenage son to try since he likes Moss ( for some reason). He got a kick out of the packaging and took pictures to show his friends what his mom got him. The scent to me was lighter than I thought but still very nice. I love that you can tell it's handcrafted and the fact my teenager thought it was cool is just added bonus points. My son did say that he liked the soap and that it lathered up well and did a good job of cleansing his body. It lasted for about 3 weeks before it finally bit the dust. I feel that's pretty fair when it comes to bars of soap so I am pleased with how long it lasted him.

This scent is very reminiscent of Irish Spring soap.However, Irish Spring soap is awful. And this soap is great.I've been using the same bar for almost a month so the life of the soap is tremendous. It doesn't give me that squeaky-dry feeling after using it that lots of "designer soaps" will. The smell stays with me hours after using the soap, which is something I look for in a bar of soap. You want to be clean and SMELL clean.This is the soap you're looking for.
