I'm a newbie when it comes to making frames but depsite my lack of knowledge, these still feel a bit cheap and possible a bit weak in places. They are made from common pine, which like most pine wood nowadays is fast grown, meaning that it has very little in the way of strong grain. These stretcher bar keys haven't really been finished much either. Perhaps that's normal but the ends have some splinters breaking off and are quite rough.£4.99 for 10 unfinished cut wooden wedges seems a bit excessive to me, but maybe that's just how it is. I believe that you usually get stretcher bar keys when you buy stretcher bars so these are kind of extras that you might need and as such the price might be about right, however I'm not overly impressed with these.
