Works flawlessly
This is very simple to install. It greatly simplifies the process of calling up CarPlay. You get in your car and it automatically connects to CarPlay - no messing with connection wires. In the maps, simply tell Siri where you want to map a route and it does it for you. Your radio automatically reconnects when you return to your car. I have a 2020 Mustang GT convertible and this just adds to the fun of getting back in the car.

Didn't work for me. Your mileage may vary.
I attempted to use this in my 2023 Nissan Murano Platinum using an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.3.1.I received this item on a Friday afternoon and took a few minutes to get it set up. The first thing that was a problem that it would not work with the cable I have been using with my iPhone for Carplay. It's a 6" USB C to C cable with right angle ends. It allows me to connect my phone with minimal mess and isn't in the way when the phone is not plugged in.The Ottocast refused to start up using this cable. Finally I switched to the provided cable which is far too long for my needs and doesn't have the right angle connectors. It did start up and I was able to pair to it. I played with it for a few minutes and everything seemed fine. I restarted the car several times to make sure it connected OK. There is a bit of a startup wait but that would probably be offset but the hassle of having to plug/unplug your phone every time you get in the car. I found the screen response to be pretty snappy and without a direct side-by-side comparison I didn't notice a difference from using wired CarPlay.I figured I could figure out what do with the cable later and left everything in place for my next drive. On Monday morning I got in the car and started it and the red light never went off on the Ottocast. I didn't have time to mess with it so I headed out. Within a couple of miles my entire navigation/audio system rebooted. The Ottocast still didn't connect to my phone and a few minutes later the nav/audio system rebooted again. I unplugged the Ottocast and threw it in the passenger seat.A few days later I had time to mess with it so I tried again. Started the car, Ottocast wouldn't connect so I unplugged it again. I tried plugging my phone in with the old cable and that didn't work either but I was driving so I couldn't take time to figure it out. A few minutes later the nav/audio system rebooted. Argh! The phone still didn't work even after the reboot. At the next available opportunity I stopped the car, shut it off and restarted. My phone connected and everything was fine again.Needless to say (but I'm going to say it anyway) I won't be plugging this back into my car. If it's not going to work every time without some sort of hassle or having to turn my wi-fi on/off or mess with the bluetooth settings every time then I don't need it in my life.I'll be returning it and I don't recommend it to anyone.Pros:1) It's tiny, unobtrusive and should be easy to tuck out of the way2) When it was working that first day the screens seemed snappy and responsiveCons:1) Wouldn't work with the very short right angle cable I had been using for wire Carplay..2) Refused to connect with my phone the first time I tried to actually use it on a real drive3) Causes my car's nav/audio system to reboot every time it's connected.4) Setup instructions are vague

Almost a one star ready to return but then….
Ok so I have a 2017 Honda accord coupe. From the reviews it’s like plug and play. So I did that followed a few steps and it was all good but wouldn’t play my music. I went through different settings, tried WiFi and the three different modes. I updated then googled with no results. I thought maybe something is blocking the signal because in Bluetooth settings it would only connect for like a second then disconnect. Long story short I had to forget my car radio on my phone. Yes you can push disconnect but it will reconnect at random. After that it was perfect. A little lag but it’s not like I’m a DJ. My other car wich has a atoto s8 with CarPlay is a hot and miss but hooked this to it and works flawless. When I switch cars I can just transfer. I was frustrated at first and really don’t write reviews but maybe this will help someone

Reliable 85% of the time.
When it works it’s great! About 5sec delay but starts right up most of the time without issue. Sometimes it requires fidgeting but that’s rare. It also sometimes connects to my phone when I’m not in the car taking calls which is a little annoying.

Subaru 2019 Forester Touring Perfect Function
With new iPhone 15 Pro I am using MagSafe charge and wireless Carplay is not available in 2019 Subaru Forester Touring - sooo - I bought the OTTOCAST U2AIR PRO. Connected immediately and functions perfectly - I see no difference between plugged in iPhone Carplay and the OttoCast.Small enough to tuck away somewhere. Connects to the phone as soon as you start the car - no action needed from me. Shows phone charge status and cell network status.

This product will not work for long
This product worked well for a few weeks, that's it. I experienced all the known issues of connection dropping, slow response time, slow startup, but now it will not connect to my phone. Nothing changed since I first started using it. I've tried reconnecting it, but there's something wrong with this product because it will not reconnect. No idea why but it should be simple according to the manufacturer. It is very frustrating because it has potential to work well, but after reading all the other 1 star reviews, I am having the same poor experience.2/2025 Update: adding two stars. It’s still glitchy but as long as it only connects to one phone, it stays connected most of the time.

Connected no problem!
I purchased this for use with a Harley-Davidson Street Glide. I was skeptical at first but took the chance and purchased it anyway. I'm glad I did. I use an H-D smart helmet with CarPlay and everything is working great. Connection is quick. I would suggest getting the app first to make the wifi connection even easier.
