Lined, good variety and protects your knives
The only knife edge guards I've used in the past were probably cardboard and were definitely not lined, but as my cooking increased, so did the quality of my knives. I decided it was time to protect them from damage or dulling - not to mention protecting me from being cut. This set had a nice variety of sizes, and I liked that they were lined. After reading descriptions and reviews on approximately one trillion knife guard sets on Amazon, I went with this set.First off, they came well packed, each guard with an individual piece of clear plastic protecting it. There were several sizes, and I took a little time to figure out which knife fit best in which guard - the sides are open, so if one isn't a perfect fit, you can still protect the sharp edges. Because chances are like any set of edge guards, these won't be a perfect match for your knife sizes, but for my knives even when the guards aren't a perfect fit, they protect the edge and stay on. And yes, you could get a perfect fit by ordering individual guards that match your knives. If you're like me and want good protection for your knives and your fingers in a convenient, reasonably priced set, I think are well-worth a look. They're tight enough to stay on but not too tight, which can be dangerous if you have to wrestle your blades in and out. They're attractive (they look great in my houndstooth knife roll) and come in a nice variety of what I found to be useful sizes. And for what you get, I'd say the price is right. I'm happy with my Noble Home & Chef 8-Piece Universal Knife Edge Guards set, and if you're looking for a set rather than individual edge guards, these are definitely worth your consideration.

Great product
I love this product. My knife drawer insert doesn’t fit, so while in transition I thought this product my be helpful in safeguarding not only my knives, but my physical well being too. Now I don’t have to worry when I reach my hand into my kitchen drawer. All of my knives are in a sheath that not only protects and lengthens the life of the blade between sharpening, but myself as well. No longer do I have to use extra caution due to sharp exploded knife blades in my drawer. My only wish is that I could have custom selected the lengths of the guards to match each knife I have.

Really nice knife edge guards..
These were a gift for my nephew who is training to be a chef. His mom got him a set of Wusthof knives, I got him a knife case and knew he would need blade guards to go with it. He just loves them. The case came with two blade guards, but he said this set is so much nicer because they fit the knives better and are lined so the knives slide in and out easier without scratching the blades.I have bought universal guards in the past for my old knives that are in a drawer. I just went by price never thinking there was much difference in them. Now I will have to get this set for myself and maybe some new knives to put them on.Thanks to all of you who take the time to post reviews as this purchase was based on what others have said about this product.

Overall I'm very happy wimm
Overall these are great knife protectors.I subtracted one star because a lot of knives now don't have handles that are straight up and down where it meets the blade. So a knife that has the front of the handle angled will have about an inch of blade exposed.Unless you cut the protector at a slight angle, which is extremely easy to do with tin snips, or doable with heavy scissors. From the look and feel of them I have no doubt they will last a long time, so I gave them 4 stars for durability and sturdiness. Will update in a few months.

Knives, knives everywhere
I have an assortment of knives that I've collected throughout the years. A few expensive, some in between and some just old favorites. I have them everywhere. In kitchen draws, in wooden blocks, some wrapped in corrugated paper for protection.I started baking Artisan bread because I'm retired and bored. My inexpensive bread knives were just doing a disservice to my beautiful bread. So I splurged and bought a Shun bread knife. Hubby is not allowed to touch it. Well, to be honest. He doesn't even know that it exists and I'm going to keep it that way since he pretty much destroys everything he touches. The Shun knife, of course, needs a knife edge guard. So here I am.I just received the guards and can't evaluate for any long term usage outside of a couple of days. They fit well and snug but not to snug making it difficult to use. It's perfect for all my knives from my Shun bread knife down to the old carbon steel Chinese cleaver I have.I think every knife deserves to have a cover. No matter the cost of the knife. These covers are reasonably priced and well made. So I plan to buy more and when I need to bring a knife to an occasion where I'll be cooking I will NOT be carrying the knives around with those awful tacky DIY cardboard sheaths I make. Yes, they are beyond tacky.

Works as needed to protect knife roll from blades
These are well made and I would probably buy them again. The only thing I'm not 100% fond of is they are lined with a fuzzy surface to help hold the knife, etc. For my unique use, I'd rather they didn't since sometimes I have to travel, use my knives in the field, then travel back with dirty knives. There is no way to clean this felt like surface inside the guard. If it were smooth plastic, I could clean it easier, but it probably wouldn't hold the knife blade. All in all, they are very nice and work great. I'm just have a unique use case.

Very nice blade guards
I have knives that need to be sharpened periodically and these blade guards are perfect for transporting them safely. The blade guards are sturdy, open on the top and easily accommodate blades slightly larger than the guards. Much much better than the cardboard holders I had been using. I’d recommend this product to a friend.

Perfect for the dangerous drawer of knives!
Pros :- Sleek design, nice black colour- Made of a very sturdy plastic, won't be easily broken- Soft felt lining on the inside for an soft glide of the blade, protecting it from wear- Minimalistic logoCons :- Sizes don't all fit knives in my kitchen - would have rather had less variety in the small pairing knives and more covers for 8-inch blades- Covers a little tight so if you slide the blade in, it may stick and that's where you could injure yourself on the blade == Consider placing the butt of the blade against the end of the opening and closing the blade into the cover (like closing a pocket knife)

Excellent Product, Excellent Value
I purchased these knife guards after seeing them reviewed and recommended on the Serious Eats website. They`re great: lightweight, compact, felt-lined so they won`t dull your blades, and if - as we did - you find one of the larger ones is much longer than you need, they can be sawn to a shorter length. We had been using some plastic, magnet-lined holders. Not only were they bulky, but the adhesive remained gummy, necessitating us having to pull them apart each time. Horrible. Using these has made much more space in our drawer. Very glad we purchased them. My only wish is that we could buy the different sizes separately, since we could use two more of the shorter guards.

All good. Attractive, covers edges well and does not harm knife sides when inserting blade
