Merrell Women's Flaxen Sandal

I also have Merrill hiking boots and athletic shoes and these another excellent product. The fit is true to size and they are extremely comfortable, even walking long distances during travel. The leather uppers "break in" quickly and have elastic bands around the heel piece for a smooth fit. The first few times you put them on will be snug, but as they conform to the shape of your foot it gets easier, like a favorite pair of jeans. I have high arches, narrow heels and a wider ball/toe area and have found that Merrell shoes fit very well. My smallest toe ends between the two front straps but it has not caused any discomfort because the overall fit is so good. These shoes do NOT have extra-grip soles, and were a little slippery on steep, muddy trails, so I do not recommend them for hiking conditions. In general a wonderfully comfortable walking shoe. All my Merrells have outlasted many other similar shoes by other manufacturers. Worth every penny.

UPDATE: I LOVE these. After 1.5 years of wear, they are still very comfortable and has a lot of wear left yet. They look more worn, but I think that just makes it better. These are probably a pair that I would keep buying again whenever the current ones wear out (which I hope won't be for some time).I usually wear a size 8, but I think I could've gone with 7.5. But the 8's are ok, too. So I just kept them.These are super comfortable and stylish. I got them to wear on those walking days. I live in China, and thought these would be perfect for a day out to Beijing, shopping and hiking the Great Wall, etc. So far I've worn them around during my holidays in D.C., Chicago and L.A. I thought they might chafe my feet a bit, but they are wonderful. Definitely worth the money, as I plan to wear these for a long time.

I was a little disappointed when I first tried these on, because they were a little stiff and I thought they would not be very comfortable for long-term wear, which is what I intended for them. I was wrong however, they have softened a little and fit my feet like a glove. I can wear them all day, and walk all over the place and my feet do not hurt one little bit! I expect that I will actually wear these out eventually...This is a good thing because USUALLY I give my shoes away after a while because they hurt in one spot or another, but not so with these!!

I have had my eye on these sandals for about a year now and when I saw they were on sale I had to get them. I wear an 8.5 in shoes and was recommended to order down to the 8 for these and the length is perfect. These are easy to get on and off. The only downside is the part that goes over the front of the foot is a bit tight. I have pretty thin feet and they are tight on me. I am sure they will stretch out once I wear them more, but if you have thicker feet this could be a problem.

Because this sandal has a full heel, you cant just slip your foot into place. I have to push my foot far to the front of the shoe to make enough room for my heel to drop down. The heel has those loops, and they are helpful to pull on while pushing your heel down, as long as you can get a good hold of them. Otherwise, once you have the shoe on, these are wonderfully comfortable and cute.

I liked the look, they're lightweight, soft, and I have other Merrell footwear that's wonderful. I put the first one on my foot with the bunion and had immediate pain. Didn't even try on the other one. Not a good fit for me because of where the straps fall, but if your feet are in good shape, they may be quite nice.

This is a very comfortable, practical sandal, with the added benefit of style. I am not aware of having them on except that my feet are comfortable and I never feel like I need to relieve my feet by removing them. Good support and would be excellent for travel.

I have an 8.5/M foot and the size 8 just about fits, lenghtwise. On my stronger foot (the right one), I could use the extra half size length for a better fit, but these sandals only come in full sizes and you are told to size down. So the fit is OK in the width for a medium foot. These sandals do not have any straps to adjust, you just have to slip your foot in, as if you were putting on a pair of loafers. There is an elastic insert at the back of the sandal which helps to slip the foot into the shoe, as it does have straps that come up fairly high on the foot.The straps are well placed and support the foot well but they are not as well lined and padded as one would expect of shoes costing nearly $100.The sandals have good arch support, but not a lot of soft cushioning for achy feet. The noisy bit in my review heading refers to the noise the shoe and my foot makes as I walk. I don't know if this would be a problem for other people, but I noticed that when my foot sweats a bit, my foot makes a sucking noise when I walk. But this only happens with my right foot.The color which is called olive is not a true olive, because the undertone is more brown than green.All in all, this will be a good pair of sandals for anyone with a slim, medium wide foot. Anyone who has foot swelling issues or has difficulty bending down to put on the shoes would not do so well with this design. And if you want a true olive color, these sandals are not it.So all in all I cannot give this a higher rating than 4 stars.

These are nice sandals. I have found them a bit tight across my foot but I hope the leather will stretch a little. They take a bit of effort to get on but there is some elastic which helps. These sandals are smart enough you can dress up or down. I only gave four stars due to width but I would buy again

Love these sandals..they look great,are so comfortable and are so hard wearing.Great value.I am looking for more pairs.

Yet to wear all day, but initial impression is they are comfortable. They look nice with jeans or a skirt and not too frumpy. The orange colour is warm and not too bright.

Bought these shoes for travelling and they have been great, really easy on your feet as well. After 6 months in South America they are still in good condition just need a polish!

wunderschön, weiches leder, gut verarbeitet und sicherlich sehr bequem. leider ist mir 37 doch zu klein, ich habe mich verschätzt (sonst kauf ich 38)und muss sie zurücksenden. schade, dass es keine halben größen hiervon gibt.

Die Größe passt, optisch sieht der Schuh schön aus, die Riemchen aber reiben, trägt man den Schuh ohne Socken, was eigentlich das Beste im Sommer ist, dann klebt man an und sie machen Geräusche, mit der Ferse presst man die Luft hinten raus und das macht unangenehme Geräusche, ich würde ihn nicht noch einmal kaufen.

Die Sandale ist sehr schön und leicht, weiches Leder.Grosser Nachteil: die Bänder über dem Leder drücken so stark, dass es schmerzhaft ist.Sandale geht zurück!

Die Sandalen sind wirklich sehr bequem und bieten durch die geschlossene Ferse perfekten Halt.Leider hat mich der linke Schuh vorne etwas gedrückt, weshalb ich die Sandalen zurückgeschickt habe.

Für meinen Urlaub habe ich einen Schuh gesucht, mit dem ich viel rumlaufen kann und der nicht nach einem Wanderschuh aussieht. Leider habe ich mir nur Blasen gerannt und es wurde nach dem "Einlaufen" auch nicht besser. Schade um das Geld.

Läuft sich gut mit dem Schuh. Man schlüpft nach einigen Versuchen schnell rein und raus. Kann ich nur allen weiterempfehlen
