Gave it a wash when it came, no bad taste.It's light but it feels sturdy and strong.As it holds 850ml or so, it makes it ideal to put on your belt, it doesn't weigh you down like a bigger bottle would etc.Shoulder bag with bits in on left, canteen on belt on right, balance achieved.

great quality pouch, bottle is meh but fair for price.word of warning, the pouch doesn't quite fit the stanley 1ltr adventure canteen. which is actually the only reason i bought this so anyone thinking likewise i hope you see this!

The pouch is nice. Good quality clasp and straps.However the flask itself leaks. The rubber ring in the lid seems off-set so any pressure on the flask pushes water up and out of the closed lid.Resulted in a big mess the last time I used it for Airsoft :(
