I haven't used the wax yet, but I wanted to comment on the packaging. While it's a resealable bag, which is good, the edges of the bag are not very strong and a small hole for in the side of the bag. It's not a big deal, but I highly recommend having a bucket with a tight lid to store the wax chips in once they arrive to prevent an accident in case the bag tares.

I have my own candle making business and have used this for all of my candles! I first bought a 5 pound bag to see if I liked it. I did so I bought a 10 pound bag next time. I have bought even another one sense then. I don't think I will buy it again because I have found another brand that has a 50 pound bag and is cheaper but if I don't like the other brand I will totally buy this again! I just don't want to have to keep buying 10 pound bags over and over. If you are a new candle maker this is the way to go! I really had a great experience with it!

Love this wax! I just started making my own candles and this was very easy to use. I first tried melting it in the microwave (because a lot of people online recommended doing it that way), but I started seeing sparks so quickly stopped it. This could just be due to my specific microwave specs though, not sure. So then I started using the stove to melt the wax - put the wax in a steel container with handle, then put the steel container in a pot with water, heated the pot on my gas stove. The wax melted very quickly and mixed well with the crayons I used for coloring. It also has a pretty neutral smell.

going 5 stars because it was cheap and fast and would work fine for the right applications...i bought 10lb of 464 for a bunch of kids to use for making sand mold candles while on a school camping trip. it was pretty warm out (90's) and the candles wouldn't harden until after sunset and things started to cool down. this wax cleans up way easier than paraffin but is feels more like working with fat/shortening than wax. even at room temp this stuff isn't very tough. if/when i'm ever looking for candle supplies again I'll spring for traditional paraffin wax. this soy 464 would probably work well if you're pouring into a glass or other container.
