ARIES 2070450 Black Steel Quick-Release Roof Rack Crossbars, Fits Select Jeep Wrangler JK, JL, Gladiator

My wife needed amber lights on top of her Jeep. We bought these to mount the light to. Very sturdy and well built. These would work for heavier things also, like a canoe or kuyak.

As of May 27th 2023 the Amazon description says these are compatible with JL wranglers and they are not. Check the manufacturers website and see it is for JK wranglers only. The brackets are not tall enough causing the crossbars to contact the roof.Aside from that the roof bars are pretty nice. I like the look of them and they are definitely strong although a bit heavy since they are steel and not aluminum like most others. The mounting mechanism seems very sturdy. I decided to keep these and modify them to fit the JL which involved welding a plate on each bracket to increase its height by 1" and purchased longer bolts to match. I'll revise my one star review if they ever fix the description.

There is a lot of wind noise, but I knew there would be when i purchased them.

These racks are incredibly loud when going down the road, the noise is beyond annoying. They are also a complete nightmare to install and uninstall. If you want the top of your vehicle scratched to death these are the racks for you. If I could have given them no stars I would have. I think I will end up just throwing these away, as it costs 75 dollars to ship them back, and just buy some new ones. Lesson learned.

Great product easy install perfect fit !!

I’ve had them on my door surrounds (besttop soft top) and haven’t had any problems. I can’t open the front top of the soft top without taking the front bars off, but that’s to be expected. The bars are quick and easy to put on and remove. Installation is easy. I have pads on the bars and they do not roll or move. I’ve only had about 60lbs on these bars so far but no problems.Wind noise isn’t bad unless I’m crossing sanibel causeway bridge. Then it’s annoying.

This product seemed to be very heavy duty and was a good price.I also spoke with local rack shop and they said it was good. I returned it because my two door jeep only has a rain gutter above the door so I was going to end up with the rails 14-16" apart - no helpful. Also the product is very heavy duty and I just want to carry an inflatable sup on topSo no blowing up everyday! Back to the drawing board. I thinka good product for a four door jeep and mounting something heavy.

I would have given a higher rating as the product is sturdy and works well but the racks didn't go together without filling the inserts due to a tight fit. In fact, it didn't go together unless I filled the paint and over welds so one part could slide in properly. Took me about an hour of work to get them to fit properly. I'm also disappointed that this caused the inside part (unseen) to have the powder-coating filed off so I'm concerned this area will now rust causing issues in removing the racks when not in use.

No clearance at all and is touching the top of the keep. Very loud

Very sturdy product and does the job. Only complaint is it is very noisy when you reach 60 km/h. That’s not the fault of the product. It’s just the way it is. But if you want a quiet ride, don’t buy a product like this.

It is LOUD. The wind noise is alright, but holy cow does it squeak. Metal on metal everywhere, and it just squeaks like crazy going down the road. The design would be way better if they had two holes and brackets on each side instead of one. You end up with this pivot point where I believe the noise is coming from.Not impressed with the quality for the price and am returning it after one trip with it.
