Great box, loved the back plate, super easy to mount to.

This is a good sized 18x12x6 inches (approx) junction box. I am mounting the updated control boards and power supply for my CNC table and this has plenty of room for the control boards and power supply.The plastic back plate in convenient in that it is a grid of holes which can take wood or machine screws with a minimum or no drilling and tapping needed. The vents are also screened which should keep out most bugs like mud dauber wasps from moving in and have shrouds to shed rain. The latches and hinges are also plastic but close the door securelyThe ABS plastic construction is adequate to do the job but the plastic is thin enough that the door will flex and would not take any serious impact. A good budget alternative.

I picked this up because I'm planning on setting up an ADSB receiver to track planes this spring, and the best place to put it is on top of my chimney. After thinking about it a little bit, it was obvious that if I'm going to mount anything up there, I should also add a few other things, like a weather station, an outdoor WiFi access point, maybe some other radios... It has four rather large vents, with screens on them to prevent insect incursions. And the door latches shut very solidly, with a weatherproof seal along with a hole for a padlock to provide a little extra peace of mind.I'm looking forward to getting this ready to go this winter, so it's ready to hang as soon as I can get up on the roof!
