Your question is whether this cotton Cebelia may be used for tatting. YES. In fact this brand has weights of Cebelia from 10 (heaviest) down to 100 in steps of 10s, for finer and finer work. For your purposes, this is a large Cebelia, 10, because usually tatting is with much smaller thread weight yarn...60, 70, 80, etc. There is still larger crochet cotton...3, 5, 8 and some 12, and the embroidery floss with 25 weight plies. DMC makes sizes 3,5,8,10,20,30. There is no recommended hook size on the ball band. See DMC.com. For example projects, search Ravelry.com for projects that used this thread. Project notes there often state what size hook was used, and have pictures of the project.
