One of my kittens chose the arm rest of our couch as his personal scratching post. It started getting damaged, so I bought this and it works great. Not sure why so many people thought it was difficult to attach. Once attached, it stays in place and both our kittens love using it!

UPDATE: I’m updating my review from 2 to 4 stars because the scratching mat has stayed firm on the couch over several months, and my cat uses it! My only complaint is with the terrible instructions that are unclear about how to installation.ORIGINAL REVIEW: We got this thing on our couch, but I have no idea if it’s the way it is supposed to be. As others have noted, the written instructions that come with the product are awful. The 45 second video on the website spends 5 thoroughly unhelpful seconds on installation: “Installation is a breeze. Simply place it on your sofa, secure it with the provided fasteners, your furniture is now cat proof.” Ridiculous! We’ve spent at least 30 minutes studying pictures and searching for YouTube videos to try to figure out how to install this thing.If it manages to stay on the couch, and if the cat uses it instead of the furniture, we’ll keep it, and I will update this review.

Good luck figuring out how to get this on correctly because the instructions are not clear. I was disappointed that the velcro straps that wrap around the legs of the sofa are gray versus brown so they down stand out in a glaring way. Hopefully I got it attached correctly. I do not like the fact velcro is attached to the sofa on the underside. We shall see if it works.

This thing is amazing for my cats to stop tearing up the corner of our couch. I actually purchased the layout for the other arm of our sectional because the little terrors love using it so much! Huge win. And it is holding up great.

Good product. The came in the color of my couch. I like them and would recommend them, especially if you have a cat.

The media could not be loaded.  I thought the quality was excellent but it really is challenging getting it on and staying on.

I’m not the brightest bulb in the pack and I will admit sometimes I jump in without fully reading the directions. I mean how hard could it be? Ya’ll, it was hard, even with the “instructions”. I needed the directions to explain it to me like five year and that did not happen. My cats were wondering what in the complicated word I was trying to lasso up, under and around the couch. Once I had it on, the cats laughed and it fell off. Not quiet that easy, but almost. I can’t fully recommend this product and still wonder if I just don’t have the IQ to fully figure it out.
