Mythworks CBR+PNK: Augmented Edition Minimalist Pamphlet TTRPG Forged in The Dark

In an effort to package this 'Forged in the Dark' RPG into this sleek, compact, portable presentation, all the rules had to be crammed, and this makes the game nearly unplayable for anyone not already familiar with the Forged in the Dark system.I've been wanting to learn this system for a while, and it's a MASSIVE change from traditional stat RPGs like D&D and Cyberpunk RED.I had to watch Blades in the dark tutorials to even BEGIN to understand this system.The presentation is clean, beautifully drawn, and well packaged, but the learning curve (which feels like a mile high brick wall) ruined it.Play Blades in The Dark first, before picking this up.

This was my first ever TTRPG experience and it was amazing!Picked it up at SDCC 2023 with a couple of friends and was offered a demo by one of the creators. The experience of play was exhilarating for a first-time player. Really fun that I can draw my own character and spec it to my liking.So far, I've played the scenario Mind the Gap, which is sort of a train heist scenario. I must say that it is easily one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had playing any type of game - describing what I wanted to do and then seeing what happened with the roll of a dice.The mechanics are easy to learn if there’s someone who has played this type of game before to guide you through, but even without it the learning is painless; I found some videos and articles online explaining the system that make it easy to understand.5/5 experience for someone who never played TTRPG before and recommend for anybody interested in this format of game to pick it up.
