Very comfortable. Thick but not to thick

I bought these for my husband. He coaches softball, so he is alway out in the cold. He wears these under his sweater and sweats. And they hep keep him warm.

I had previously purchased my husband some traditional long johns to wear for work under his clothing. Then I saw these and decided to give them a try. My husband fell so in love with these because they are soft, thick, and warm. he even uses them as PJs. He did not care for the other thermals after trying these

Long underwear was on the recommended packing list from the operator of a mid-October schooner cruise on Penobscot Bay. Let me say up front these thermal long Johns did the job. Kept me warm day and night. Daytime temps were in the 50s and low 60s, sometimes with a lot of wind. Night time dropped into the 30s.Daytime, I wore these under my regular clothes. The shirt went under a cotton tee and Eddie Bauer fisherman’s style cotton sweater. Then a fleece jacket or windbreaker when needed. The pants went over my briefs and under blue jeans. At night, I slept in the long johns. I’m certain that if the weather were colder these would have kept me plenty warm under just slightly heavier outerwear.Fit? At first, when trying these on at home, I thought the fit was ridiculously small and tight. I’m not quite 5-11. Weigh 165-70. Wear a 15-1/2 x 34 shirt. 34 x 32 pants. I ordered large. The shirt was snug and emphasized my bit of pot belly (so no wearing this as outerwear). I felt I needed to tug on it to get it to reach my my waist and get the sleeves to feel right. Pants legs don’t need to reach the ankles: this is underwear, after all. They only need to reach a bit below the top of the socks.In actual use, the fit felt fine. Extra-large might have worked, too. But the large was good enough.

These have the unique feature of fabric that can be cut to length without unraveling. Great idea, but terrible execution because the arm and leg lengths are way too short right out of the package. Why bother creating a product with a wonderful trim-to-length feature, and then make them so short so that no one even trims them? These run small as I had to buy the next size bigger because the vertical fly was gaping open all the time in my usual size, which isn't good in long underware worn as pajamas.
