Get More Than You Pay For
Okay, so I bought this set of little speakers assuming the speakers plugged into the ipod like it would a charging station. I didn't know the only way the speakers played the music was through the audio jack. The audio jack on my ipod was screwed up, so I was hoping these speakers could be the answer. While I was disappointed when they arrived the speakers weren't what I expected. I do have a cheap little mp3 player I use constantly for music since my ipod touch is basically screwed up to s***. The sound on these little portable speakers are actually quite decent. In other reviews people mention these speakers are perfect for personal use. I agree, though if you had a quiet gathering of like three or four friends you could use these speakers to play some music to fill the silence. You would just have to place them in the middle of the table close to everyone or something. My only gripe with these speakers is that the instructions weren't very clear. In the picture you see the part holding the ipod. Well, that's attached to the back of the speakers and I thought I was going to break the speakers when I pulled the piece out so I could switch it to the front. Getting the back off to put the batteries in also resulted in a another piece flying across the room.Other than those small inconveniences I believe you get more than you pay for with these little speakers. They look decent, aren't flashy, but they certainly do the job. I would recommend getting 4 rechargeable triple AAA batteries for these speakers though. The fact being batteries make it easier to carry this thing around. Yes, you can plug it in to a USB port to be powered that way. But with the batteries it just makes it easier to carry the speakers around or put them off to the side while you have some music playing. You will have to shell out some extra cash for the charge for the batteries too, but honestly I believe it's worth it.So, these are awesome little speakers. I love them. Rechargeable batteries are a good investment since if you buy this thing you'll probably be using it a lot. And for the price if the speakers break you won't be breaking the bank. You get more than what you pay for.

These have remade my life! No more neighbor complaints about noise.
This is the greatest product! I absolutely love it! I have very fussy apartment neighbors, and so I never play my CDs or Pandora after 8:30 p.m. or before 9:00 a.m. I get tired of them fussing, even though the manager says I have a "legal right" to play music from 7:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. Now I can play these tiny speakers while I read, late at night. I like them better than the ear buds of the iPod, even though the ear buds have better audio. Also, my dentist tells me I should brush my teeth for 4 minutes, twice a day. I hated this until I figured out I can take my speakers/iPod onto the sink counter and listen while I brush my teeth. I know that sounds weird, but it works, so I'm not bored. I also put them on the pillow late at night to help me fall asleep without bothering my neighbors. Wow, do I love these!

Solid but not Spectacular Speaker
This is all you'd expect from such a reasonably priced speaker. I just needed it for very light use so I'm not expecting great sound. The construction doesn't appear overly durable but it cleverly folds up and is sufficient for my needs. I would not suggest using this as your speaker if you're hosting a dinner party. It folds easily. The little stand you see pictured holding the iPod in place doesn't hold it 'locked' in; it could easily slide around in there but if this is propped on a desk/table you should have no issue with the device sliding about. A small plug is inserted into the headphone jack to transmit the sound and it uses 4 AA batteries. I haven't had it long enough or used it enough to say how long batteries last but, for my needs, this device was a good value. I wanted something affordable and portable with a tiny footprint and this meets all those goals.

Confusing. No directions. Not as described and definitely not as displayed.
There are no instructions. I cannot figure out how to get the battery in. I don't know how the ipod hooks up to the speakers or what kind of cord I need for this. The ipod holder is NOT in the front but in the back with no lettering and you can barely fit a note card in there let alone an ipod. I am beyond frustrated trying to figure all of this out and on the verge of returning it.

Somehow, and I haven't gone back to the original ...
Somehow, and I haven't gone back to the original listing to see how, but I was under the impression it was a docking/charging station for the iPod as well. It is not. It's just an adequate little set of speakers that's battery or USB powered, the latter being the reason I didn't return it as it comes in handy for my use. It take the output from any device with a standard 3/8" ear bud style jack. Quality is unexceptional.

O.K. Mini Speaker but one problem.
This requires putting a little pin in the little round hole. The previous ones I purchased connected via raised mechanism which the larger iPod opening fits onto. That is more convenient and I think how this functions should have been mentioned in the description. There's no way of telling from the image. Otherwise it's fine.

Terrible
I used this to listen to audio books on my ipod. The first week it was great. Then it started crackling a lot. By the end of week two, I had to play with the connection between the speaker and the ipod for a long time to get it to connect. And if I touched the ipod, I would lose sound and have to start messing with it again. It's sitting in my garbage right now.

Good sound compact speakers for Nano
I bought this for a trip to Italy and wanted to use it with my Nano. I actually found the sound great in our room and it was easy to use. I would suggest being very careful with the cord that attaches to the Nano and I think when I stored it I must have broken a wire and I wasn't able to use it very long. My husband is quite handy and was able to fix it pretty easily. It is really compact and was just what I wanted.
