Hooks
I haven't had any issues with the hooks grabbing the net, I definitely would recommend. Oh and great for storage.

Great net
Quality net for the price . Nets are getting more and more expensive so finding one that does the job for a decent price is important

Unique, simple design that folds up as easily as it unfolds.
Okay, maybe I’m the only one, but most of these quick fold out designs open up for me easily enough, but they never fold back down anywhere near as neatly as they were before you open them. I was expecting that issue here, but it really did fold back up just as easily and it folded out.I opened and closed it a lot seeing if I could find any issues. The one an only problem I ran into was you have to make sure the bottom extension of each side has to snap in like the picture above. If you don’t get that locked in place, you could have your net partially fold on your trophy catch. It was clearly my fault when this happened, so it isn’t a fault of the design, but the user, so just be mindful.Lastly I will say I was pleased and surprised at how soft and fish friendly the netting material was. It is the normal fabric style netting material, but it had been rubber coated. I would say this is safe for even the most fragile skinned fish. A touch that puts this net firmly in the buy category for me.

Perfect For Backpacking!
Amazingly nice net for its listed price range. I do a LOT of fly fishing... more than any human should be allowed to do. I've owned, broken, and lost a number of nets throughout my adventures. My current arsenal of surviving nets include a long-handle boat net and a mid-length stream net. Those nets cost me over $200 each, no kidding. Landing nets are very important to me, regardless the price. This portable folding net with the short handle rounds out my netting needs and is far better quality than I had expected. The anodized blue hoop is darn purty. The net bag is rubberized mesh, which I like a lot because it packs down better than pure rubber net bags (found on more expensive nets) and is resistant to hook fouling. I was expecting this net to be useful for small stream trout fishing but to my surprise, it can handle a lot more. The bag is deep enough to easily handle Trout, Salmon, or Steelhead in the 24"-25" range. The handle is made of THICK grippy foam (so comfortable) and the net definitely floats well. For Backpacking: Backpacking is what I'll be using it for primarily. It weighed-in at just over 15oz on my scale. That qualifies for space in my backpack for multi-day mountain backpacking trips. The folding handle is also a sweet feature for this purpose.A couple of very minor gripes but not worth deducting a star:#1 - I have no use for the plastic belt clip that's molded into the handle. Fly line or tippet line can easily foul on that clip. You might have use for it.... I'll be cutting it off and smoothing the area with my rotary tool.#2 - The elastic leash that is attached to the handle is flimsy and el cheapo.Solution... it's anchored under the end-cap of the handle. The end-cap can is secured to the handle with one phillips-head screw and can easily be removed. Once the end-cap is off you can remove the flimsy leash and easily use whatever you would like for a leash. Feed the it into the end-cap secure it to the inside of the end-cap with a small knot, then screw the end-cap back into the handle. Done deal.Overall this net is a winner, big time. I highly recommend, especially for lightweight backpacking adventures.

I'm thrilled to bring this net along for steelhead fishing!
While I typically stick to bank fishing, I'm planning to use it on our upcoming weekend float trip. However, when I attached the net to my waders, I noticed that the handle tends to partially open while walking or when I'm settling into my favorite fishing spot. Despite the excellent craftsmanship and sturdy netting, the occasional half-opening can be a bit inconvenient. Overall, I'd rate this product as average. However, if they were to address this latch issue, it would easily earn a 5-star rating from me.

Nice compact good sized net
Like that it folds to make for easy storage and transport, but when opened has a large sturdy opening for most fish I’d expect to catch from my kayak which is reason I got it in first place. Here it is opened and inserted in the pole holder within easy reach.

Pretty nice net, but...
Unfortunately, the top adjustment tightener doesn't clamp tight enough to hold that section of the net. It's and easy work around though, and I hate returning stuff.

Very handy, medium size fishing nets. That works great for a hike in fishing trips
I do quite a bit of fishing we’re getting to the fishing spots can be either a long hike or bike ride into a spot. After a recent weeklong trip to the coast, where we had to walk in about 30 minutes to the fishing spot, this medium sized lightweight fishing net came in very handy for that type of situation.I was able to use it to net several redfish, as well as a few whiting, and even a speckled trout. It works very well and all of the situations. One thing to keep in mind, is the handle is pretty short, which may cause an issue in certain fishing circumstances.
