Swingline 1 Hole Punch, 20 Sheet Capacity Hole Puncher, Low Force Plier Paper Punch, Black & Silver (74017)

My last pair of hole punchers weren't doing the job. I bought this one because it looked sturdy. It has worked well and doesn't take much effort to punch holes in the fabric or paper I need it to punch. It's a bit hard to see where the hole is going to be. I had to flip it upside down & open the chamber to see the red marks for the holes. The chamber door doesn't let it work well when open. Only a small detractor. I'm just so glad that it's easy to use. It cuts a hole cleanly & quickly. I didn't know it would be so easy. The old school hole punch I've had before was always so hard to use. This one has great leverage.

Bought this to replace the "old school" handheld punch I had. The kind that would give you hand cramps after using it too much or if you tried to punch anything thicker than a sheet of office paper. This thing is better in every way, making clean punches through whole stacks of paper and even thick cardstock, thin plastic, and cereal box cardboard. It is easy on the hands, requiring much less force. It is entirely made of metal, and does not feel cheaply made at all, despite the low price. The one minor (so minor!) downside is that it can be a little difficult to position the hole perfectly ...that is, unless you just open the little punchout-catching tray so that you can see the hole. Then it's no issue. That's the way I tend to use it. But you also develop an intuition after a while, so you can leave the tray closed.

I decided to try this hole punch to replace one my wife had that was of the conventional type, it had gotten quite dull. The ones I found online of the same style seemed to be just cheaply made based on price. Hard to find tools like the ones of old Made in USA! This hole punch is AWESOME, very easy operation and hardly any effort required. Very happy with the purchase, Thanks!

This whole punch is nice a sturdy. It works well and is easy to punch holes. The only issue I have is it is a little hard to know exactly where you are pinching the hole. Maybe with more time using it, it will become easier. But I found that it was hard to line up exactly where I was trying to punch the hole. But other then that it seems to work really well.

An earlier review mentioned that it's a little strange not being able to see where you punch, just open the hole punch receptacle and you're good to go. I love this thing! It is so smooth and easy to use. It feels sturdy and strong in my hand and doesn't hurt to use when your doing several hundred punches. I've never had a hole punch not hurt my hand and this one feels good.

I needed a punch because my earring cards came without a hole to hang them. This punch does the job easily! I was worried it couldn't reach the middle of the card, but it has room to go in the inch I need! It cuts through the plastic easily and with little effort. I'm so please with this item!

Sometimes I laminate index cards for recipes and then punch a hole to put a metal ring through them. Using a regular hole puncher to punch through sturdy lamination is tough. This makes it easy!

After 31 years of classroom service, my one hole punch finally quit working. I replaced it with this product. My old hole punch could barely do two pages at once, but this one will neatly punch 3-5 pages. It is sturdy and looks great on my desk.

Was looking for a better hole punch than the awful one I have been using for some time now. This one is certainly a big upgrade on the old one I had. So much easier to use. Was difficult to find a hole punch that would work a ways in from the edge of the paper. This one does & I'm happy with it. :)

Just right for the job.
