TP-Link LS1210GP 10-Port Gigabit Desktop with 8-Port PoE+ Switch , 1x Gigabit SFP Port Network Switch, 61 W PoE Budget, 30 W Output, Up to 250m Transmission, Traffic Separation, Plug and Play

I originally kitted the house out with full Netgear PoE switches, such as 724s and 108s, and they ran the house beautifully for 5+ years. However, two 8-port switches and one 24-port non-green switches use about 60 watts, and even more if using PoE for cameras etc. That's the equivalent of leaving a lightbulb on day and night, which adds up over 5+ years. It adds double now that our energy utilities are scalping us on bills.So, I switched to these low-power switches. They basically just went in as drop-in replacements. No configuration required. Their ports auto-configured and everything just carried on working. I've gone from 60+Watts to about 8 watts. I've also put one of the switches on a timer because there's never anyone in one of the rooms from 11pm to 8am. I tried that with the older switches and they tended to get their knickers in a twist if you did it too often.So, on average over 24 hours the networking kit is now about 6-8 Watts instead of 50+Watts. So, doing the maths...~50 Watts saved per hour, for 24 hours for 365 days a year is 50x24x365 = 438kWh per year. At 50p per kWh, that's £219 saved over the year, more than paying for the new kit in just 4 months in fact. In the 5 years I expect to run it, that's almost a grand if the price per kWh doesn't drop!!!!Very easy to install, very quick, very sleek and smart, and works flawlessly while saving a lot of money.

I have a couple of TP-Link PoE switches and installed many more. They have always proved reliable and versatile.This one is to go on a network to increase the number of connections in a small office. Two printers, two computers and a PoE WiFi device plus an uplink and its easy to use the ports up. Two screws in under a desk and its easy to mount upside-down so its not in danger on the floor or taking up desktop real-estate. I've run 4 Omada EAP245's PoE off one of these but that was only temporary as I think that was on or over the budget limit of 62Watts.This or the 5 port version is a real handy desktop tool for testing PoE devices. The extension facility is useful for long cable runs but does reduce the speed on those connections (Ports 1 and 2 the rest remain GB ports) to 10Mbps which is still fine for most cameras, using the H264 protocol on the camera is probably the best option.

This is a great piece of kit and did exactly what I needed! Our BT home hub only has 4 ethernet ports, and 1 is now used for full fibre. This gives us several extra ports to use for the TV, the PS4, Hive, Ring - the more devices connected by ethernet the better as it reduces the strain on the wifi.It's so quiet to the point where I questioned if it was turned on or not! The brackets on the back make it easy to hang on a wall which is what I did.It's smart looking as well. Great value for money and I'm most things TP-Link have served me well over the years.

Does work fine. Nice metal body. Downside: No leds for link and transmission.

Compact, with great features and easy to set up.All my Wireless Access Points running directly from it (along with the gateway for my fire alarm system) using POE and without the multiple POE injectors I had before.

Great connectivity, and a good value for money especially as there is a large port capacity. Would highly recommend
