I have a mini split that I use to heat my shop, it has a filter screen on the top of the unit but it's not all that effective for the shop environment no matter how often I clean it. I recently took my air compressor and blew out the inside of the wall unit and had a giant cloud of dust come out. Once it was blown out the unit heated the shop much faster and without running as hard so I knew I needed to do something. Since they don't seem to make better quality filters for my mini split this material is a great second choice. The filter fabric will trap so much more of the fine particles from the shop air while not impeding the air flow thru the wall unit. Its easy to cut to size and I simply attached it to the existing filter frame with the tape along the edges. There is so much in the package that I will be able to make 6 filters from the one piece making it more convenient to just change them out them wash the dirty ones once I have gotten to the last clean one. I do wish that someone made an aftermarket filter that just fit my unit just because it would be easier, but this is the best option since they don't exist.

This filter seems to be releasing a lot of tiny fiber particles whenever it is touched or moved slightly. That’s the opposite of what I want it to do and defeats the purpose of an air filter.
